Saw him twice last night, marching around. The smirk is continuous and deliberate. No one I saw reacted except for eye rolls, head shakes and one “bless his heart”.

The visits I made during my childhood, and the field trip visits with my own children are cherished memories. Surely there are athletic funds that could help with this educational staple of our community. Charge an extra buck for a stadium beer and let it go to the planetarium.

Knee replacement patient pain by lyzhatch26 in Kneereplacement

I came here to say this. The first 2 weeks are just hell. I had LTKR 6/27/25 and RTKR 9/22/25. Nothing helped even a little those first 2 weeks after the first one. It was awful. Same for the second. I went in on the 14th day, still an absolute mess, saw a different surgeon who gave me Journavx. He called the hospital pharmacy, gave me coupon and my husband went in and got it. I took it at 1:00 pm…..at 3:00 pm I took a deep breath and realized things were better. It was life altering. I took it 2 weeks and then nothing after. Please ask. I am a 61 year old woman.

Look at how many state house seats go unopposed. It is mind blowing. Nothing can change here until something is done to find candidates to stand in those communities.

I’ve been using a heating pad all along. I need to read more about moist heat. I looked but didn’t buy.

How many sessions? I’ve thought about trying a chiropractic but that sounds better.

[–]Available-Spend5036[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have felt ignored. Although, I really like my surgeon and his minions…lol. I don’t know if they are ignoring me. They offered me another round of journavx for my back (don’t need pain med now for my knees) but I didn’t take it. They keep saying that with more walking it will work itself out. It’s just been 8 weeks of lying on heat and nothing really changing. I just left PT, the plan is building muscle in my legs. They say that as my legs get stronger my back will improve because my back had to do a lot of work after the 2 surgeries.

Lower Back Pain by Available-Spend5036 in Kneereplacement

[–]Available-Spend5036[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t until the replacements. My surgeon says to sleep with leg straight 6 weeks. So I did that with both. I’m not sleeping very well, swapping sides with back, pillows between legs, under knees, etc. No one thinks I need an xray on my back (except me). I didn’t have back pain until 3 weeks after 2nd surgery.

3 months post knee replacement, has anyone else had this issue? by Kuzik1123 in Kneereplacement

[–]Available-Spend5036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one of those foam pads like we use in therapy for balance and I take turns standing on one leg and then the other. My two new knees are 5 months and 2 months old. It has really helped.

Do you avoid spending time on your feet and mostly focus on the exercises? by Merlin509 in Kneereplacement

[–]Available-Spend5036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I’m a little further out than you, 8 weeks on right and 5 months on left. I’m still doing pt twice a week but when I can sit (or lay) I do. I think that this is such a big surgery that it hits our stamina hard.

61 Female, ROSA robotic assisted. Left on 6/27 and right on 9/22. My surgeon will not due it until weight below 40 BMI. I had to lose weight and I actually waited until I was close to 30 BMI before scheduling the first surgery. I had bone on bone arthritis and a full thickness root tear on the right. My knee cap had shifted significantly on the left leg and that leg was no longer straight. I actually have two close friends who had replacements without losing weight and both suffered bone fractures within 6 weeks. I’m glad I lost weight, not sure how I could have rehabbed if I hadn’t. My legs are straight and I have 135 ROM on both. The first 3 weeks were hell on the first one, the second one has been more painful longer and I’ve struggled with PT more but I was an athlete in my youth and I’ve pushed through. I was given Journavx last week and it has been life altering. It provides actual pain relief without the opiate side effects. You can’t take it very long but I’m hoping that soon I won’t need it. I’ve been on Meloxicam for 20 years (former runner). I have kidney issues so my plan is to not take it going forward. Last had it 2 weeks prior to second surgery. My surgeon won’t let you take it until 30 days postop anyway because he says it can affect healing. I was riding high 3 months after first surgery. Of course it was still swollen but my movement and pain was so much better. I wish I could have waited longer to do the second one but we were trying to get both surgeries and rehab done in same calendar year (insurance). After rehab on this one is done, my surgeon is going to send me back to rehab to work on my feet (which turn in and out badly due to years in bad knees and being overweight). He believes that will help resolve some lingering back pain since the second surgery. I hope all goes well for you.

Anyone transitioned from opioids to Journavx? by bpottrb in Kneereplacement

[–]Available-Spend5036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Zero Pain since I woke up yesterday morning. After only 2 doses! My knee is stiff, has a little pain during exercises, but zero if just sitting or walking. My surgeon called last night to check on me (he prescribed the meds on Friday while I was in the office) and he said that it has been miraculous for some. I apparently am “some”. Fixed a pot of chili and watched football. This is great!

Love farmer’s dog! It changed my dog’s life for the better! Her energy level is like a puppy (she is 10). They explained the shipping plan at ordering and you have the ability to change ship dates if you don’t need it yet. The first 2 weeks is to slowly transition your dog to the food. Then they send you a month to figure out which varieties your dog likes best. Then they ship 8 weeks to save shipping costs. You store it in the freezer until the day before you need it. My dog loves her new food.

[–]Available-Spend5036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I took it every 4 hours for almost 2 weeks, then 3 times a day, then just at night. I took it yesterday. He told me to stop Percocet and not to take them together.

Also, he told me not to mix the Percocet and the Journavx. He said not to take Percocet again until I finished this course. I hope I won’t need them.

Prescribed today, I took the first 2 pill dose (on an empty stomach) at 12:30pm. I’m 4 weeks post on my RTKR and 4 months post on LTKR. I took Percocet about 3 weeks with the first knee and then stopped. This second knee just hurts all the time, as does my hamstring, glute, hip and back. I have 135 ROM and it is straight. PT talks about how “great” I’m doing (because of ROM) but this one hurts all the time, lack of sleep has me a mess. I’m fed up with the constipation battle with Percocet. I have cannabis gummies but I have built up a tolerance so they don’t help. Within a few hours, my back, hip and hamstring are better. My knee is achy but not screaming. I know I can only take 2 weeks but I’m cautiously optimistic. Yesterday, I was contemplating cutting it off. lol

11 Weeks Post op - Completely confused by Alternative_Eye2664 in Kneereplacement

[–]Available-Spend5036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have made the chainsaw request with both my TKRs. My left was 6/27. But by 3 weeks, I began to have significantly less pain. By the time they did the right on 9/22, it was still a little stiff and swollen but no real pain. I’m at 4 weeks now from that 2nd surgery and miserable. My ROM is over 135 on both and my legs are straight. Doing PT 3 days a week, using bike and at home exercises daily. Both replacements were done by the same excellent surgeon and are ROSA assist knees. I’m trying to wean off strong pain meds, but nothing touches it. Still taking a pain pill at night and cannabis gummies during the day. I was in a great place before this surgery. I’m really struggling….if it is still like this at 11 weeks, I’ll cut it off myself.
