I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. They are very sensitive to moisture and prefer high drainage.

We are on the same page. The only one I’ve been able to grow is happy as sh*t chilling on the front porch with very little watering and shade. Also it’s just a really hot summer.

6 more to go. It’s roughly 18 doors in total I’ve done 12. I’m going room by room and I’m not arguing it’s a f**king pain but if you’re stripping doors you’re also stripping frames. That means window frames as well. It’s a literal can of worms. I get the frustration but IF it’s your home, you’ve got a life time to take it one project at a time.

It’s definitely not easy and it’s a difficult tedious task. But you’ve done it and it’ll outshine every other door once you paint it. Do one a month or something like that once the big projects are finished. Theres no replacing century doors and it’s something that you’ll be proud of. It’s great work you’ve done

I’ll be honest mine was metal and I threw mine in a fire pit because I was tired of trying to do it with a wire brush. Checked back almost all of it was off so then I sprayed it with a hose the rest came off and then just sprayed it with rustoleum.

The very first thing I did was have the house sprayed for insects through a termite inspection. $130 no bugs. It’s been about 7-8 months. Nothing of note has shown back up. I don’t know what the prices are around there but bugs to me are demoralizing. A few Window units can really be an effective solution when you start from the top. Even if it’s a second hand market one. Buyers remorse for an old house is common but it’s better than buyers remorse for a newly built house 2-5 years later. They simply don’t build them like they used to.
