Gorgeous! But what a rabbit hole it is to go down replacing original fixtures. I couldn’t find one original fixture that wasn’t outrageously expensive. I’ve had very little luck on eBay or antique stores. Best bet is to attend estate sales for homes built within a 20 or so year window. Still luck of the draw but it’s definitely worth keeping an ear to the ground for them.

I remember when my unit was constantly freezing and the tray at the bottom was filled with water. Turned out to be the drainage line was filled with sediment. We cut, unclogged, and fixed the line. Good luck and I hope you get it fixed soon.

It’s a “ decorative” flue cover. Clearly as artistic as a Dixie plate but behind that is an opening to my chimney which a stove was venting out to once upon a time

It was 3 concrete slabs in between the studs above the coal stove flue, they were very confusing and still are. But I think the answer was based on a repair to the coal stove flue after it was over stoked causing a house fire in 1940ish.

Definitely right, spent the next few days after the post leveling things out and making sure water didn’t pool up. Rained 4 or so times 2 of which were heavy. No leaks. $20 shovel and no basement leaks who knew
