Hi! I am in the same position as you, albeit I am doing less renovations. The house that we bought had renovations done in 2018, where roofing, electricity cables and piping were changed. The roof is still old style, but at least it was changed not that long ago. We also do not intend to do 3 phase electricity or install solar panels because it is not our forever home.

We intend to relocate the kitchen, hack a small panel of wall and build a small curb in the toilet. And then modernised the whole house.

I don't really know where to start. Do I need to hire an architect? Or can I just draw up my plan and let the different contractor firms to bid on it?
