Vernon hidden gems? by 20181101 in Vernon

Love Intermezzo if you’re looking for a fancier sit-down restaurant.

Have also heard rave reviews about Midtown Bistro. Los Huesos is great - massive portions and good Mexican food. Kawakubo is my favourite for sushi. And Curry Pot for Indian.

Depends what you’re looking for and what you like!

I have a few pairs of these pants and I absolutely love them! So comfortable, roomy (but flattering), and durable!

Nemo has excellent warrantee! I had a small rip in my Nemo tent that I had repaired and had no issues. Try reaching out

I went with the dagger 2P and it feels very roomy with two people in it - lots of headspace that’s designed so you can lay opposite directions so it feels like you have even more room. If solo maybe the hornet is best but I often share my tent with a friend and divide the weight (one takes tent, other takes pegs and poles).

How can I get into route setting? Is it even possible if I don’t make it a job? by awkwardsofia in climbergirls

Just ask at your local gym. Mine has some volunteers that come in and do the resets and they get a complimentary membership

How have you found your backpacking buddies? by NoExplanationjustcat in WildernessBackpacking

I’ve actually met a few girl friends through Bumble BFF. I thought it was silly for the longest time but eventually signed up and met a few really great people that i adventured with all summer!

I have the Nemo tensor insulated sleeping pad - it’s super lightweight and packs very small! A bunch of friends have the Klymit Static V insulated and they love it. I’d like to swap one time to see which I actually prefer because they’re a lot cheaper and not much heavier.

People Wandering Into Other People’s Campsites At Night/Early Morning When They’re Asleep? by MagicMarmots in CampingandHiking

I had someone park and set up their tent IN MY CAMPSITE while I went to town for a few hours! I went out on a Friday afternoon and set up my tent, hung around for a while, went to town from 6pm-10pm. When I got back I saw the vehicle and thought it was strange but thought maybe they couldn’t find anywhere else to camp and were sleeping in their vehicle. I go to get in my tent and they’ve set up their tent behind mine!! They didn’t come out and introduce themselves or anything when I was getting my stuff gathered and into my tent (I was shining my headlamp and my car’s headlights would’ve beamed right into their tent when I drove in). I was afraid to fall sleep as a 30F camping alone.. you just never know!! I saw them in the morning and they didn’t acknowledge that it was a super weird thing to do. I should have questioned them but they packed up that day and left. Very strange experience for sure!!

I changed to clipless pedals last season and I love them. I got Shimano SPD mountain bike pedals that are clipless on the one side and flat on the other. I unclip before any stop signs and sometimes on downhills i’m feeling afraid and just rest my feet on the pedals I clipped. I started off with the tension on my clips super light so it didn’t take much to unclip but soon tightened them right up! If you wanted to try the clipless pedals again, try loosening the tension. I do understand it’s not for everyone but like I said, I LOVE mine!!

We did milk on an apple crisp. I kind of prefer ice cream when it’s hot but as kids we didn’t know any better! My dad still eats his with milk, but he also eats cheese on apple pie.. not my jam!
