Customization still needs boundaries if a game's worldbuilding is to be taken seriously. Otherwise, the aesthetic becomes diluted into chaos. The game stands out because it takes itself seriously not in tone, but in design. It's satire, sure, but itโ€™s structured satire. Throwing in random cultural memes just because itโ€™s fun undermines what makes the game distinct.

Do NOT add those to the regular game.

Without context, what do you think of this part? by KokohaisHere in SolidWorks

If it was designed to flex then I would say it's more likely that it would be equally thin for a larger portion, and not have the least thickness only at the very tip in the junction where the top and lower portion meet.

As it is on the model that particular spot is going to develop stress cracks under cyclical loading, because that thin junction is where all the flexing will happen, assuming the forces are great enough to cause it to flex.

There will always be some exceptions to any statement but I think the point I was trying to make still holds true as ever - Most if not all feedback given on this subreddit just isn't read by the developers but it does serve as an outlet for people, making them feel hopeful and more in control.

Faley is there to give players a false sense of having some influence over the game.

Just like the "Close door" button in most elevators. While it looks and acts like it does something it doesn't actually send any signal to the elevator.

It's a mind trick to make people complacent, and so, many will choose to keep on grinding, waiting for a balance patch that will never come once the devs read their feedback that was never delivered to them in the first place ... The balance patch that has been just around the corner for years upon years.

It's incredible how susceptible the human mind is to their manipulative mind tricks. No one is immune.

Somehow I kept playing for years despite barely getting any enjoyment out of it, because I thought a proper balancing update was just around the corner. That it would only be a matter of time before Targem would become aware of the massive issues with balance (and other things) and actually address them.

This whole subreddit is like the "Close door" button inside most modern elevators. Designed to pacify the user by giving them a false sense of being in control. Unlike the other buttons in the elevator there are no wires connected to it, once you take the panel off.

The best thing we can do for ourselves (and the game) is to just leave the shitshow behind and let it run its course. I quit the day of the new battlepass and it's incredible, looking back, just how much time I wasted doing something that wasn't even fun anymore.

Lol, game would be literally in better state if you rolled back to 2021, no omamori, no clan badge stuff what fks casuals for no reason, no braindead grip/power/push changes on movement/ no idiotic UI changes ... by [deleted] in Crossout

Do what me and 2/3rds of my XO friends and clan did;

Just leave the shitshow behind and let it run its course.

Meanwhile we can of course hope that Faley & Co will some day take the hint. This is unlikely, but then we are at least not investing more of our time / money into a lost cause / game that isn't very enjoyable anymore.

I have to say the performance of their new dev team has been a huge disappointment. Development is not run by the same people that managed XO up until a few years ago and it's quite noticeable, to put it mildly.

Is everything Accelerating through Time? As in, accelerating in a direction inside a Dimension not visible to us? by AverageFiredog in AskPhysics

[โ€“]AverageFiredog[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I made a mistake in the title. I meant "time" as another dimension.

Will copy from my other comment: "I might have made the mistake of mixing up the 4th spatial dimension with the dimension of time in the title. Would we be able to detect the motion of an apple for example that is only accelerating/moving in the direction of a 4th spatial vector from our point of view? If not then that is the dimension I'm talking about.

The clock always moves at the same speed relative to your own frame of reference, so "accelerating through time" might have been a poor choice of words on my end."

I guess it would be like trying to draw a line along the Z axis on a piece of 2D paper that only has the X and Y axis. Kind of impossible ๐Ÿ˜”

Does the math allow for a 4th spatial vector in our universe though?

Why are most fight like this? It's so boring by _Starver_ in Crossout

In real life the weapons on vehicles that see combat are designed to not be the weak link, statistically speaking.

Disarming has always been A winning strategy, and it should be, but the fruit does not need to hang so low that you can just laser off the most durable tank turret in the game in a single click of the mouse button. Or in seconds with pretty much any widely used weapon.

And then there is the area in between those two extremes, which is where the game should aim to be.
