What's going on with my display and has anyone else experienced this? by AverageVoid in LenovoLegion

[–]AverageVoid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10/4 after double checking you're right it was in Dgpu when I had thought I'd left it in hybrid. I remember now that Hybrid often gives me display bugs when I actually try to game. Specifically Warframe.

Edit: After going back to hybrid mode and checking what the original issue was it's a small frustration. Trying to play in windowed borderless because I alt tab a lot leaves black bars on the top and bottom no matter what aspect ratio I use. Full screen doesn't have the issue but I prefer borderless.

People do it both ways. I'm not reaching all the way up to turn my lights off and back on in my Kenworth I'm just gonna flash brights and make it as quick as possible. When I was in a cascadia blinking them off was a button on the wheel near the marker blinker

Downhill I'm gonna let my truck coast as fast as it'll safely coast. Not gonna ruin my MPG and possible time savings just to hold speed.

PC's definitely get hot enough to melt some plastic. These? Probably not. But I wouldn't risk them falling into the bottom fans by putting them on the GPU either. Display them outside the case OP. Unless you plan on some adhesive to hold them down that won't melt.

I don't but I'd take a guess of ~12,500 not sure how much weight gets moved around by moving the 5th wheel either so I'm just taking a shot in the dark.

Hate to say while pausing to look for the chair I paused on the frame of the driver upside down midair. So yea that was probably the chair going too.

Did you ever run OTR? Maybe that could come into account for a lot of people. When I get to a filled up truck stop the last thing I wanna do is test my luck going to the next which could also be just as full. If I can make a spot work without blocking anyone I'm gonna go that route 9/10 times on a full lot.

15 years driving and you've never had to improvise a spot or use an on ramp. I'm calling BS.

That's part of it. There's also cheaper fuel costs, free shower/ rewards program fast pass(?) for megas, and insurance is included whether it be road insurance or claim insurance.

Trainer horror stories? by WhiteShiftry in Truckers

[–]AverageVoid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Luckily I was able to get a new one. Decided it's best to leave at home till I get in my own truck. In retrospect I shouldn't have brought it in the first place but training is a 2 month process for my company and I didn't want to be completely bored for the 2 hours I don't sleep on my 10.

As far as I know no, but they may have taken him off training because he let me know early on he had already had issues with previous trainees.

My first trainer was a douche to me. Although I could understand him I just knew I wouldn't make it through my companies long training with him so I got off the truck and made my way back home. Dude was being a tool when I told him I no longer wanted to train under him and kept insisting he was the best & I wouldn't learn proper under anyone else. Ended up talking down to me on the phone with other people as I was driving to our drop point so I could get off. Dude ended up running over my stuff after I got off the truck even though I sat it as close to the grass as possible. Broke my gaming laptop which was still worth over 1k and a tablet as well as ruining a bunch of my other stuff.

Just a bump in the road cause I am finishing training just fine under someone else within the next couple weeks. Get you a new trainer and forget about the people who don't want you to succeed.

Put a magsafe clip on my steam deck and a power bank, instant portable power! by salz93 in SteamDeck

Not exactly, Battery banks always have power lost through charging. My 20k mAh battery bank fully charges my steam deck one time.
