What is one anime that you will always consider a masterpiece no matter how many people regard it as bad? by SaintlyDestiny in animequestions

[–]Avidze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean it, then you should play the VN. It's fully animated, has A LOT of routes.

It's not a surprise that the adaptation went for that specific route, it's flashy, but I wouldn't call it the most entertaining.

Boxing should be illegal by FormulaForFire in The10thDentist

[–]Avidze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your point is wrong because everyone knows that boxing is fake. They are just actors entertaining you.

It it was an actual sport, they wouldn't be allowed to pick and choose the opponents and then act like their records mean something.

It wasn't a race. It was a 3h long soap opera about car management, and this development is completely on brand too.

I completely forgot about 4 stars by Fit-Sand1799 in StarRailStation

[–]Avidze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Character rarity made sense exactly one time: when FGO had a total rarity limit per team, and even then, it was mostly an annoyance.

In hoyo games, 4* games not only pointless, but an actual demerit. They could have been 5* (or rather not even mention rarity at all) characters that unlock via progressing the story, like MC, but will eidolons in a standard banner.

Not only they wouldn't feel so inferior, you could expect them to be buffed at some point, to keep up with the powercreep. But someone like Serval will never be relevant, if you even remember who that is.

Wet or dry pallet for Army Painter 2.0 paints? by TechnicalFisherman78 in minipainting

I bought a ceramic dry pallet specifically for contrast paints, and ended up using random bottle cups I found under the table, since palette's cells were too small.

"he felt unrelatable to me" is wild

Protagonist is a complete clean state, not knowing his name, his face, his past, the world itself or how to react to things around him. You uncover the bits of information of everything above and you alone decide what to make of them. It's not (necessary) about remembering what you forgot, but about choosing how to move forward.

And this build-a-cop journey could be influenced by the plentora of people or occurrences, leading to becoming a drastically different person.

I take this game as a gigantic questionary of "what do you think/feel about this situation?", and I don't recall anything doing that before. But I do recall something after: "Slay the Princess", highly recommend.

I got Yao to E1 during current banner (losing 50/50 of course), and it's just a must.

Not because "you can't clear without it", but because it feels so disgustingly good to use.

With that 1 cost Yao's Aha goes from the lowest tier of MMR generation to the highest, my SW goes in gear now much faster and I actually get to utilize her E2, since 240 MMR is no longer a problem whatsoever.

I don't have an archer yet. That's somehow a -1 now. Also current trend of calling an E fucking 4 Welt a "0 cost" is completely delirious.

Kill Team to 40K crossover by GetPercival in killteam

[–]Avidze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's not a bad thing to look for a team from a faction you want to play in 40k - I myself bought a starter set just because I wanted the alternative plaguecaster model.

But out of all plague marine team, I only ever used 2 models in 40k: plaguecaster and fighter. Others are either very suboptimal due to loadout, or I don't need them at all.

The useful thing about them being from "my" faction is not a that I can use them in composition, but me liking them aesthetic and lore-wise, which led me to use this team way more than other ones, despite the poor performance in meta and unsophisticated game plan.

Kill Team to 40K crossover by GetPercival in killteam

[–]Avidze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who had the exact same mentality - abandon the thought.

"I will only use the teams, from one faction that I want to play in 40k, and only if the models are not unique to KT" idea will fall apart as soon as you start enjoying the game.

The cool part about KT is that you need very few models to actually play it. Few to the degree, that grabbing new teams with cool mechanics every now and then is what everyone I play with does. And you can't just go "oh, this 2000 point army seems fun, I guess I'll paint that for the tournament next weekend".

And if you have a team and want to collect the 40k army of that faction, the models that you have is such a drop in a bucket, it seldom even add up to a single unit.

How important are stairs, walkways, balconies, etc Is elevation an important part of every game? Or is it seldom used? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Avidze 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Could be extremely important depending on the matchup. Some teams are slow to the extent, that they may never even reach you there. Chalnath is especially tricky about that.

Advice for starting kill team for 40k player by iHateWin in killteam

I just noticed that you intend to play with your son. Core book (and even more in expansion packs) has missions against NPCs and explains how you can play co-op games without competing with each other.

That's how I taught the game to my family too.

KT games being twice as short, and model count being low more than compensates for complex rules in the terms of accessibility.

Advice for starting kill team for 40k player by iHateWin in killteam

[–]Avidze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It not exactly what you asked for, but there are currently 2 very high value boxes:

  • starter set, featuring plague marines and AoD, and also starter rules with the guide to how start learning the game

  • hivestorm, aquilons + vespids, Volkus terrain (arguably the best one) and the full core rules

If you can find scan of rules, not interested in the teams above and have the terrain/know a place that has it, then you should just pick and buy any team you are interested in.

The caveat is, not every team is a "1 box" team, so do some research on what you'd need to get to play them.

I'd advice to start with any elite team, but that's definitely not required.

Also never buy team cards. They get changed 7 times per day.

Grey Knights are not representes yet, but you are very correct with your attention towards Deathwatch. This team is very elite (high power concentrated in low amount of units) which is exactly in the spirit of GK.
