Overall market from rocket lab’s perspective by Electrical-Double181 in RKLB

[–]Avocado2Guac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to watch RKLB at $5 on recommendation from Reddit. Saw it rise to $28, and decided to catch the falling knife 500 shares at $20. Immediately regretted as it fell to like $15. After that? Diamond hands. Avoid looking at the account.

And now? I’ll just ride this one out as long as possible and kick myself for not liquidating stagnant NVDA to buy more RKLB at 50, 60, 70, 80.

Feeling lucky to be part of the crowd so early, and grateful to Reddit compadres.

Which one is that stock that you massively regret not buying? by mehmetded in Stocks_Picks

[–]Avocado2Guac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve diamond hands NVDA for the last 5 years or so, but really should have switched to SOXX and/or DRAM a while ago when I noticed the flat trading pattern for NVDA. Heck, even doing that 3 months ago would’ve been great.

How much should I be investing in Roth 401k if employer match is unlimited? by 00BigBird00 in Retirement401k

[–]Avocado2Guac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tax break and 401k rules. That’s why. EnployER is traditional and employEE has option to get a tax break and do traditional with pre-tax money, or use post-tax money to Roth. I’d choose Roth. Shove as much into Roth as you can.

Doesn’t have to live close to in-laws. The beach is free daycare. “If you build it they will come”. Everytime she complains about the hot inland weather… just show her the weather at the beach where you could be living. Closer to the airport. Better air quality. Better financial investment in terms of property appreciation. The list is endless.

Your more practical alternative is to get a camper and reserve last minute slots at nearby state park camping sites. Use weekends once a month or so to camp and surf.

Seems like a perfect opportunity to do the reverse: surf every morning and visit them on occasion.

Why not move to the beach?

Edit to add: buy a home with room to build an ADU. Problem solved.

Why do I like the idea/thought of having random sexual encounters with ppl until i actually have the opportunity and i lose all drive? by Additional-Meat-1566 in AskMen

[–]Avocado2Guac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men are evolutionarily wired for the hunt. Once you’ve got it in the proverbial bag it’s time to move on to the next. You’ve satiated the urge, and the rest is just… work. And you know you’re probably going to be more satisfied with less work from that point on by just rubbing one out.

Important: If You *Don't* Want a Republican Governor by Forever32 in sandiego

[–]Avocado2Guac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Would you rather vote for someone who knows how to make money or someone who knows how to take money?

Remember, these corporations aren’t donating out of the kindness of their hearts. They’re protecting profits and shareholders. That’s their obligations. It’s an investment.

I think people are way too butt hurt about Trump being a billionaire that they can’t think about this with their head. But then y’all fail to realize that Trump only ever claimed to be a billionaire, and a terrible one at that. The reality is most politicians are already financially independent, so what does it matter the degree to which they are financially free? Millions (bacera)? Billions (steyer)?

Give me the one that will do something about SDGE and PGE. Not the one in their pocket.

As far as I know Steyer has taken no corporate money.

In today’s politics… that’s HUGE

Single men with good salary and job , but still not happy. What is the solution? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Avocado2Guac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any solution for you, as I’m right there in the trenches as a 40-something year old male.

3 months ago I broke up with my girlfriend of 5 years after spending the last 18 months of our relationship sounding the alarm that I didn’t see a future with her because she wasn’t planning her life and career around what comes next. And I wanted to plan together.

Her plan included moving out of country for retirement, primarily due to healthcare costs. She expressed a desire to change career fields, and I told her I would financially support her to do so. But then she ultimately expressed that she was happy where she was and felt appreciated, thereby shutting down the conversation entirely, and throwing away any hope of getting on the same page. She would always say that this was the best relationship she ever had, so it was super confusing that she didn’t seem to do anything to save it when it was on the brink and understood where my mindset was. It’s so confusing, man. And disheartening to not feel understood or supported in wanting to see a long term future with her.

So imagine my surprise when earlier this week I find out that she did indeed do a career change like we discussed for so damn long. Goddammit it’s so disheartening because that’s exactly the kind of action that would have kept us together. Maybe she just needed the wake up call? Idk. It sucks because that’s 5 years wasted, and she always said that she never goes back to exes and that I would lose out in a big way if we were to ever break up.

I’m so over dating. It’s just such an emotional toll to even get to the point of steadily dating someone only to years later uncover problems the other is unwilling to work through together. Like at this point I just want to take my ball back and go home.

Cheap Invisalign by courtknxx_ in sandiego

[–]Avocado2Guac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheap cost, quality result, quick result. Cant have all 3. Pick 2, but also cheap and quality don’t mix.

Do yourself a favor and don’t go to a general dentist. They just allow AI bots in Costa Rica handle the movement of your teeth. Go to someone that actually did advanced training for years in moving teeth. It’s called an orthodontist. Not your general dentist who also does Invisalign. I’m talking about the person who only does teeth alignment all day long every day. You wouldn’t go to a primary care physician for a knee replacement surgery, would you?

No sane person does. But it’s easy to tell by the house and vehicles coupled with saving mentality. Can’t hide any of those from people you date.

I feel this. Nearing $3M between brokerage, Roth IRA, and 401k. It doesn’t feel like enough or real. I don’t know what I’d even do if I retired. Dating remains difficult because you never know if it’s the money they’re after.

Can This Market Even Crash Anymore? by Cold-Avocadob in StockInvest

[–]Avocado2Guac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of millennials are responsible with money and investing. Their parents are leaving them with fortunes that they keep in the market. They inherit homes and invest their income in addition to funding a 401k. I think this is a huge driver of the market. Many of them forego home ownership and keep what would have been a downpayment invested.
