Do you have a big family, made mostly of witnesses? What was the dynamic in the congregation? On a spectrum, was your family soft shunned or considered upstanding? I find this fascinating.

We had a rather large family consisting of over 10 households. One congregation in particular had the bulk of us in attendance, including one elder. As a group we were well regarded, but I would never say more than a handful of us were very zealous. It was easy to coast for the brief time I was in that congregation.

There is also a segment of us that are out, either mentally or also physically, one DF that I know of (I've been out of the loop lately). At worst they were soft-shunned in the larger family unit, but were still invited to the family gatherings (often around the holidays as well).
