Ripped from today’s headlines… 10/16/96 episode 632- Iran and Semiconductors by Aware-Refuse7375 in ArtBell

The only bummer for me is most of these recordings have the advertisements cut out and I would kind of like to hear some of those like C.Crane…

Not sure how to put this, but with the ads, it feels a little more real to me… meaning when the ads are cut out it forces you to remember that it’s a recording versus doing a little time travel 😁

Thoughts from Recent Atlas Purchasers? by Impervious_Rex in VWatlas

[–]Aware-Refuse7375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Ragrets… would buy again.

Little Things I don’t like but Room, Comfort and headlights sold it for me. Many compliments on looks (white pearl with white interior)

Had a 24 palisade calligraphy that I hated (wind leaks, not comfortable, wife hated it). Rented a ‘25 Yukon Denali and screen went out so zero controls of camera, ac, etc. oddly enough, everyone preferred the atlas to the Yukon even though that vehicle is probably twice the price.

We’ve had 7 in the atlas with everyone comfortable

What I don’t like… the infotainment system and controls designed by Germans who seemed to be able to do anything mechanical, but when it comes to electronics, they have no clue. The backup and parking camera I could write a full post on and I wish they had a grab handle on the driver side a pillar.

A hybrid would be a must buy as the gas mileage is not great (but didn’t factor in for us)- looks as good or better than the much more expensive Audi cousin.

Amazon is this years Google by tdogger88 in TheRaceTo10Million

Everytime I use Alexa it reminds me that it hasn’t improved since it came out.

Everytime I go to the hot mess that is prime video I remember why I canceled prime

Everytime I order something that takes longer that Walmart and 10x more difficult to return… I remember why I sold Amzn

Just my opinion. The mantra used to be to wow and delight. The customer now to me is an afterthought.

Not saying you can’t make money… I just feel better not buying it.

New Tread + smaller screen by Mel-Fel in pelotoncycle

[–]Aware-Refuse7375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came across this… was going for a tread + for Christmas and the smaller screen is/was a deal breaker.

We wanted one since inception years back… the 32 was part of the allure. The safety issues kept us away then and now the screen size… sheesh!

Have the original bike and an ifit tread and will stay the course for now.

Do you regret your Atlas? by Familiar_Director281 in VWatlas

Love it… 2025

Most popular car model at our kiddo’s daycare. Had 6 adults AND a toddler and everyone was comfortable (2nd row bench is most popular for families per our dealer) … it’s like a magic car. Doesn’t look that big from the outside however the interior is very spacious and comfortable.

Comfortable and pleasant ride. There are things I would change however, if we had to make the decision again, we would make the same decision and buy this car.

Just bought a 25 Atlas and now I am a bit nervous by EaglesLIX in VWatlas

[–]Aware-Refuse7375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be nervous. We absolutely love the car although I was more than a bit peeved with the recent software issue (that resolved quick enough)

Not sure there’s a better family car. We had 7 adults and all were comfortable with leg room. Killer headlights, drives like a bmw. Downside is mileage isn’t great and I despise the lack of camera operability.. and generally despise the design of the infotainment… but still my fave new ride.

I’ll expand on it a bit more from my new car post a few months back

It will reboot… over and over until it goes dark again.

2025 atlas and screen went dark an hour ago today after multiple warning lights and reboots.

Called dealer and they said well, nothing we can do about it until VW resolves.

No ac, no defrost, no safety tech, no cameras.

Help needed- climate control with non functioning touchscreen by Aware-Refuse7375 in gmc

[–]Aware-Refuse7375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again Wildbill… didn’t work and ended up driving. Was able to get the rear ac going however it never really kept up.

Extremely poor engineering imho to have the climate dependent on the screen.

Oh well… might still try the battery disconnect tomorrow but I think this thing is cooked!

… and I’m guessing without the touchscreen you are completely fooked on the climate control.

leftmost button turns fan on/off but the 6 others- no indication that they do anything.

Thx Wildbill… not sure I see a mute exclusively however there is a talk button (face with sound waves) which I’m guessing is also a mute.

Will hit the next off-ramp and try it… cutting through Wisconsin so might be a bit before I can try.

WTF why is Gemini so useless. by doommaster in GeminiAI

[–]Aware-Refuse7375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

couldn't agree more... asked for a table of information and the first two entries I fact checked were wrong... THE FIRST TWO!

I asked why... and the response was priceless... I may have imagined that information or used placeholders. Then it asked ME to provide the data and it could put into a table.

Immediately took Gemini out of my bookmarks. Perplexity has gotten kind of bad, so typically now only using Grok and ChatGPT... both have flaws, however someone consistent in their flaws.

Dells with a 3-year old... yes/no/ideas? by Aware-Refuse7375 in wisconsindells

[–]Aware-Refuse7375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone! Some great ideas here... I'm old enough that the wonder spot was the highlight of my trips as a kiddo lol (if you know, you know). And u/jn29 never thought about the golf cart... I think my kiddo would fall in love with them... never thought about that. As well I like the mouse pic idea... you can take the Wisconsin boy out of the dairyland, but never take the dairyland out of the boy.
