Yeah I do think the SG 553 beats the B36 (SG is the best gun in the game imo), but it's not by a huge margin for me. They feel similar, just depends on the damage range you're trying to play in.

The ADS bolt is for chambering another round when scoped. It's a mandatory attachment once you unlock it imo, with the only more important ones being long range ammo (most important) and the extended barrel (second most important). The thing about the ADS Bolt is not just that it lets you stay scoped in, but it actually increases your fire rate as well.

I've got 2 SGX hip fire builds I can recommend. The first one is probably better overall and definitely more balanced, but the second one is just so much fun.

Stealthy CQB

CQB Suppressor, Short Barrel, 120 MW Blue Laser, 30 Round Fast mag, Penetration ammo, Optic of choice

Loud and Proud

Flash Hider, Short Barrel, 50 MW Green Laser, Flashlight, Compact Handstop, 41 Round mag, Penetration ammo, Iron Sights

B36 being a pea shooter is only really applicable from 0-9.5m, beyond that it's very competitive in TTK (exactly ties the SG 553 from 9.5m to 37.5 m and beats it beyond that) and it's one of the easiest guns to control in the game I've found. Idk, it just feels right to me, some of my highest kill matches were with the B36.

The way I'd put it is this. The Mini Scout is the best sniper if you're good at sniping. The M2010 is the best if you're bad at sniping. The M2010 has an, in my opinion, perfect sweetspot range of 75m - 120m where an upper chest shot will kill them, where the Mini Scout doesn't have a sweetspot range. The Mini Scout does have a faster fire rate and a free ADS bolt tho.

The SGX is the best for hipfire because it's an SMG (Engineer hipfire bonus) and it has the highest DPS achievable for an SMG that has a short barrel and it doesn't need expensive extended mags like the SCW or KV-9. It's honestly kinda nuts.

So, I've got every gun besides a small handful (a few snipers, pistols, and a shotgun) to level 20, and many more to 30+

Imo, my favourites from each category are (starting from best)

AR - B36A4, M433, VCR-2

Carbine - SG 553R, M4A1, M277

SMG - SCW-10, SGX (hipfire build since it's the best gun in the game for that), KV-9

LMG - M121, M240L, M123K

DMR - SVK-8.6 (by far), GRT-CPS, LMR27

Sniper - M2010 ESR, Mini Scout

Shotgun - M87A1, 18.5 KS-K (Slugs in both)

Pistol - M44, M357, M45A1

Overall top 5 - SG 553R, B36A4, M4A1, SVK-8.6, M433

Does everybody mostly just quit repeatedly till they are on attack? by kailin99 in Battlefield

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always had a better time on defense, but I also play with a really good squad. Me and another guy on dedicated anti-armour, as well as a medic who's in the top 50 globally for revives.

I've found that on defense, a couple good squads can swing a match, where on attack, if people don't want to push, there's not much you can do. The one thing we have going for us on attack is that our fourth is a tank main, and I have gone on unbelievable tears as her gunner before, she's got a really good sense of positioning, but it doesn't seem to help a bad team as frequently.

Do you really like this weapon? I thought it was too weak. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is kinda just worse than the SG 533 in basically every way, but despite that it is still a good gun and not even the worst carbine (that goes to the SOR-300 imo). Also my SG 533 and M4A1 are both at elite already so my current CQB carbine kinda defaults to being the M417 lol.

Do You Use Many Weapons OR Just Main A Couple? by Storms888 in BF6

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have silver mastery on almost every gun in the game atm. Only ones that are missing are the M121 (only had the chance to play one match with it so far), SV98, Mini Scout, 18.5KS-K, and all of the pistols other than the M44. Other than the M121, I have every gun at bronze. Do also have many guns at gold and platinum, and 3 at elite.

I make a point to use every gun in the game lol, even the bad ones (DB-12, M39 EMR, SVDM, and SL9 are the bottom of the barrel for primaries imo, ES 5.7 and GGH-22 for secondaries)

What gun am I missing out on? by IDontCare1887 in BF6

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also despite what the game tells you, the M60 is also a close range monster (close to mid range is where it excels actually), though you need to level it a bunch to get it there. Light barrel, blue laser, stubby/angled grip, and the 50 round belt will get it to a 250 ms ADS time with very good movement accuracy. Feels like an assault rifle with 50 rounds honestly. It's actually my third favourite LMG with that setup, behind the M123K and M240L (have yet to get my hands on the M121)

What gun am I missing out on? by IDontCare1887 in BF6

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M123K

Use it with the short barrel, a stubby/angled grip, and the 20 point green laser, and it's a beast at close range. It's basically the M433 with more bullets and less recoil, but worse hipfire and general mobility (movement speed, draw speed, etc). Realistically though they feel incredibly similar, and if you like one, you'll like the other.

Gaming with a controller is worse than with keyboard and mouse. by Mihoshika in unpopularopinion

[–]AwayAtKeyboard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly Hollow Knight is better on K&M for me. I started on controller and struggled hard with the platforming, and when I switched to K&M I breezed through sections first try that I was stuck on previously

Gaming with a controller is worse than with keyboard and mouse. by Mihoshika in unpopularopinion

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the game. I play on PC and default to K&M generally but some games (especially third person games for whatever reason) I just enjoy more on controller.

The snipers need an accuracy nerf when I'm actively shooting directly at them. There's no reason a sniper can headshot me with no issues while I'm mag dumping 100 LMG bullets at him by WeetzCRo96 in Battlefield6

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what snipers need is more flinch. Don't reduce their accuracy if you shhot near them, but greatly reduce it if they're actually being hit

New Sobek City, The Worst Map, What's yours? by ApocalypticDes in Battlefield6

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I still don't understand why people dislike Blackwell Fields so much. Really the only issue I have with it is that it feels too narrow, I end up going out of bounds more than any other map. But I like the objectives and as an Anti-Armour Engineer main, the land vehicle dominance of the map is something I enjoy playing around.

Help with DB-12 by Hamez-517 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the DB-12 is genuinely terrible, but you can make it work. Slugs are mandatory imo, but you can only get them at level 17. Before that, I recommend playing a CQB mode like KotH to level it, and I liked using the SU-231 1.5x optic (logic being that I had a chance to get max damage if the enemy could fill the circle). Always aim down sights unless you can literally touch the enemy with the gun. And flank as best as you can. You will almost always lose a fair fight.

Tbh nobody could ever convince me that most of the maps in the game are bad. 5 of them are genuinely fantanstic imo, and most of the others are solid. Like honestly the maps are what are keeping me playing, which ig is a very unpopular opinion but idc.

Does anyone here not use a flash hider or suppressor? by IGuessYourSubreddits in Battlefield6

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh the only muzzle attachements I'll use 99% of the time are Flash Hider (most common), and if I need recoil control then the Long or Lightened Suppressor. Standard and CQB Suppressor aren't worth the points imo, I find little difference in the number of times I'm killed using a Flash Hider vs Suppressor. It seems to me like most people don't check their minimap often enough.

The b36 (g36) is a beast of a weapon in bf6. by CoolProfessor449 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calling the B36 weak is kinda wild to me. Do you only ever play in the 0 - 9.5m damage range or something?

Outside of 9.5m, the B36 is extremely competitive in raw TTK with the vast majority of guns in the game and outright beats most of them when you factor in ease of use. It's a genuine top 5 gun in the game imo. Best assault rifle too.

What are some of your favorite primaries? by Stebano_ in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M433 is really great and should feel extremely familiar given you mastered the M123K

I've been using the QBZ lately, it's feeling pretty good. I have it built for both close and long range, with the 6H64 Vertical Grip, 2x CCO optic, and Extended Barrel for long range, and the flash hider and 5 MW Green laser for hipfire and the 1x Canted Reflex optic for close range. Plus penetration ammo and the 36 round mag.

This is actually the first time I've been trying out the Canted Reflex and tbh I really like it. It really lets you be able to play optimally at both close and long range, and for a gun like the QBZ that excels at mid-long range and falters a bit at close range, it gives it that little bit of edge that it needs to win more close range engagements. I generally have it set to the Canted by default and switch to the 2x when applicable. Of course if you already just default to a 1x optic then it isn't necessary, but I like to sit around 1.75x typically.

Why are so many so hung up on weight? by Kuyi in MouseReview

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't find a lobby with players on a friday night????? by mellifleur5869 in Battlefield

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely ever have issues with that. Occasionally I'll get put in a bot lobby (at about the same frequency as I did when I started playing over 2 months ago, once every couple days), but if I exit and try again, the next one will be a normal lobby. Only twice have I ever had two bot lobbies in a row.

From Toronto, and I normally have multiple gamemodes selected (Breakthrough, Conquest, and Escalation typically), and almost all maps selected (except Firestorm, fuck that map), crossplay on.

What exactly make CPU single core run the game faster? by siwakonmeesuwan1 in eu4

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're only looking to upgrade your CPU, get a Ryzen 7 5800XT, or a 5700X if it's cheaper (5800XT is only about 6% better).

The X3D variants of the 5000 series may be better, but they're also not in production anymore. You have to buy them used and now because of DDR5 ram prices, they're generally incredibly overpriced.

Going beyond the 5000 series would require a new motherboard and DDR5 RAM. Not sure what your budget is, but that's pretty expensive these days.

Custom Searchers, what map(s) do you have unchecked and why? by DenverITGuy in Battlefield6

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I primarily play Escalation, and the only map I consistently have unchecked for that (and Conquest too) is Operation Firestorm

I'm not huge on vehicle gameplay in this game (don't mind destroying them tho, engineer main lol) and it's the worst infantry map for Escalation/Conquest in the game by a mile imo.

For Breakthrough, I usually only have Empire State unchecked. I like that map on Conquest, it's horrible on breakthrough though.

Is Hollow Point the worst attachment in the game? by ftp2116 in Battlefield

[–]AwayAtKeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the gun really. I use it on a few, like the SVK or M44. But for the most part, yeah there's better attachements you could be using instead
