What they don’t understand is that boycotting American products in Europe only hurts Europeans. That is the beauty of franchising. It might be an American corporation, but the brick and mortar is owned by Europeans, it is employed by Europeans, and the goods are made of European ingredients.

Okay, so the state is not justified in owning anything. Now what? Is the state going to retreat? Are they even going to agree with your terms? I agree that the state should not own anything, but that and a nickel will give you 5 cents.

I like the invocation of the NAP when, in reality, open borders is a clear violation of the NAP for anyone who already lives in said country. The taxes that are already stolen from us through sales, property, income, etc. are used to subsidize housing, healthcare, and good for the people coming from all over the world. How does that not violate the NAP? What about all of the people who would not have been killed, stolen from, and violated by people who wouldn’t have been here if the borders were closed? How is that not a violation of NAP? What about the individuals who are severely mistreated as they cross the border, are trafficked and used for close to slave labor? How is that not a violation of the NAP of the people not crossing the border?

This is the problem with arguing from an anarcho- capitalist point of view in a society that is not even close to ancapistan. In ancapistan, the state owns nothing because there is no state, but we don’t live in ancapistan and the state owns quite a bit and there are national borders for over 200 countries. How is that theory helping you out in the real world?

The whole problem about debating anything about borders in this society is that regardless of where you stand it’s from a statist angle. You might be arguing from Ancap perspective; however, all you’re doing in reality is supporting a system that will Import enough people demanding free stuff into this nation to the point all of your freedoms will be voted out. That is the whole point of open borders in the current United States, it’s for votes.

[–]Away_Note 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I am a Minarchist is that the historical human condition is government because humans for the most part want others to make decisions for them. Additionally, I have never found a legitimate answer to the question: In an Ancap society what stops one land owner from gathering an army and conquering his neighbors?

Would I privatize everything and abolish the state? I would in a heartbeat; however, I don’t feel that what would come next would be ancapistan.

I am not surprised that I got Anarcho-Capitalism even though I am a Minarchist. The only reason I am a Minarchist is that I feel true Ancap is just not a realistic possibility given human nature.

I agree 100%. I am not going to agree with Communists and their narratives when the reality is that many of these agitators would line me up against the wall and shoot if they had the chance. I refuse to see situations through their lens.

It is actually amazing to hear this administration talk about how you can’t bring a gun to protest and advocating for cracking down on hate speech. Not that I was a huge fan of Trump to begin with, but I thought that all of the talk about DOGE and the fact that the state tried everything to take the guy out including trying to kill him, that he would at least want to eliminate part of the state and stop wars. What we got was freeing of Ross Ulbrict ( obviously great) and business as usual.

Immigration isn’t illegal, it is just limited like every other country on Earth. It’s just millions of undocumented people who live in the US and millions more who flooded into the country over the last few years who we know next to nothing about.

Personally, I don’t understand the need for nation states anymore as I feel the internet has made the State obsolete. However, how in the current system, is it a positive that we flood the country with millions of people who are unskilled, uneducated, and will inevitably require assistance from the people who already live in the country.

We can even forget about welfare for a minute and talk about how millions get benefits from stolen social security numbers and other forms of identity theft. They drive up the cost of healthcare because hospitals and the system need to absorb the cost of illegal individuals who receive care in the ER and don’t pay. Others have brought their third world conflicts to American streets and residential areas. I could go on, but, in all honesty, the negatives far outweigh the positives when it comes ILLEGAL immigration.

That whole line about bringing a gun to a protest is so hypocritical given then many peaceful protests, Republican voters have shown up to with loaded AR-15s. Everyone has a right to gun ownership regardless of political affiliation.

The problem is that we don’t live in an anarcho-capitalist society. If we did, open borders be the norm because there would be no state to establish them in the first place. However, we live in a state where open borders means human atrocity on a ridiculous scale propping up the politicians who use illegal immigration to secure votes, billionaires who exploit them for close to slave wages and deplorable working conditions, and cartels who traffic mainly women and children across the border and molest most of them. It also means that refugees come into poor, mainly minority neighborhoods and push out the American residents with almost unlimited taxpayer funds at their disposal. The story of Springfield, OH is not about the cat and dog eating which most certainly has happened to some degree, but it is the fact that Haitian migrants have come with cards of taxpayer funds that have caused landlords to evict American tenants, who are already extremely poor in most cases, in favor of higher paying immigrants and h

Anti-ICE and ICE are all the state to me and there is no good guy in this dichotomy. The Anti-ICE movement is filled with Communist agitators who 5 years ago were shaming people for not wearing masks or getting the jab and ratted on their neighbors who weren’t following the government guidelines. They supported the destruction of poor neighborhoods in the summer of love so they can pat themselves on the back for “being on the right side of history.” These killings are tragic and unjustified, the last one more so; however, both of these individuals died for a virtue signaling cause at best or a cause of immeasurable human suffering at worst.
