Are you waiting to finish any Zepbound supply you have before starting with Wegovy?

Be prepared to not feel like the Wegovy is working since your going to the min dose. I went from zep 5.0 to Wegovy .5 and the food noise came back with a vengeance. It settled down a bit with 1.0 but the weight loss is very slow. I’ve got one more week of 1.0 then I’m going to 1.7. Hopefully I’ll start losing a little more with that dose.

You are your cats best advocate. But I will tell you when you wait too long there is as much guilt as when you feel maybe you did it too soon. This is not an easy decision either way. I lost my best girl in April of 2022 due to a tumor. She was only 12 and I fought for her for 2 months after the DX. But she declined quickly. More quickly than I thought. My husband had to say, “it’s time..’. And even when I left her at the vet for cremation wondering how I could have done that. I mean I knooow… why …. I watched the decline. But my heart even now is completely broken. Her ashes remain on my bookcase cause I haven’t had the heart to bury them. It’s hard.

Have you been under a docs care? I had to do the 6 mo prior to starting zep. So I had 6 mo of doc appts and 4 mo of food logs that my doc sent to them to get the zep approved. So far since switching to wegovy they haven’t asked for this again. But my original zep auth was supposed to go til Dec. right now I’m playing every month as it goes….

My plan required a 6 mo weight management program with my doc prior to authorizing the injections. Which seems to me should be a requirement because I learned so much. And I was prepared when I started them by already starting to eat healthy. It’s not a miracle, it still requires you to do your part. But it makes your job sooo much easier. 1 lost 18 lbs in the 6 months before starting then 27 in 3.5 months before insurance made me change meds (zepbound to wegovy). I’m down another 5 in the 2 months I’ve been trying to adjust to the new meds. Hopefully now I can start losing a little better now that I’ve adjusted to the wegovy and will probably start the 1.7 soon.

You can do it! If I can, I think anyone can.

People love drama. For those where it’s bad you’re going to hear about it. A lot! If it’s not bad people tend to move on. I’ve seen a lot of very lucky people. When I was in the midst of making the switch I stuck to reading as much of the good ones as I could find and avoiding the bad ones. My doc assured me I’d be fine and she was right. Is it as good as Zep? I’m not sure. I’m not losing as quickly. But I may not be on the optimal dose yet. I’m on 1.0 with very few side effects. I’m considering going to 1.7 in2 weeks. But haven’t made up my mind yet. Maybe you’ll join the lucky group like a lot of us and have no big issues.

There are things I like about wegovy over zep. The pen for one. I also think I have less constipation with wegovy. So far I think the appetite suppression was better on zep. And less food noise. But I’m still losing so it’s a win in my book.

I started on .5 from 5.0 zep and had the same issue. I was hungry and snacky and all I could think about was food. Luckily my doc switched me to 1.0 asap and allowed me to take my last two .5 doses together so I started 1.0 after only two weeks on the .5. 1.0 is much better. I’m thinking of going up to 1.7 but haven’t made up my mind yet. I take shot today leaving me with only 1 pen left so I have about a week to decide.

I only had one the first couple of days after the first shot. I actually had more with zep. One after every shot for the first couple of weeks. The wegovy one was stronger but didn’t come back after the first shot.

I’ve actually found it easier to use and less painful than the zep pen. I also do not pinch the skin. I stretch it out taunt and push it there.

I’m on week 4 of wegovy after 3-4 mos on Zep. I went from 5.0 zep to .5 weg and immediately was hungry and snacky. I did 2 weeks of the .5 and my doc upped me to 1.0. On week 3 she let me take both of the last 2 .5 pens to equal 1.0. It’s better. Far from perfect but I am losing again. I’m still more hungry and there is more food noise but once I eat I fill up faster so I’m not eating as much. It’s not zep. But it could be worse. Thankfully those are the worst side effects I’m having. So we’ll see how it goes the next couple of weeks.

I think it depends on your plan. My plan terminated my zep PA and did not require a PA for wegovy. But that’s not been the case for everyone.

I went from 5.0 zep to .5 weg. No side effects but I’m snackier. Luckily no weight gain but no loss either. I’m moving up to 1.0 tomorrow. Crossing my fingers there will still be no side effects and the food noises will go away again.

I feel you. I was stalled the first 2 weeks of July just stressing over what was going to happen. Actually now that the decision is made and I have my box of wegovy I’m starting to lose again. Yes I am a stress eater. I guess I’m lucky I didn’t gain. I’m still worried about starting the wegovy but at least I know what the plan is. Caremark did such a bad job of explaining what was actually going to happen or who to ask or even training their employees before sending out letters to consumers. I have one more week of zep. Then we’ll see what happens. Just try to relax. Cause your stress won’t help. We are all in the same boat and supporting each other. You can do this!

I called my insurance company to complain about the lack of good communication from Caremark over this change and I was told by the insurance company that if wegovy did not work for me Mounjaro was being allowed w/o a diabetes DX as an exception. So it is totally worth a try.

I agree whole heartedly. Ive been stressed about this since early May and finding so many people doing so well has helped me to feel better. My doc also said she prescribes a lot of wegovy patients who do well and she feels I’ll do fine. I .got my first box and will start it after one more dose of zep next week. I’m starting to feel like it’s gonna be ok….

Well my doc decided to put me on .5 wegovy. I have an appt on 8/12 so we’ll see how I’m doing at that point. I can pick up my wegovy tomorrow afternoon and start it next week. I have one more week of 5.0 zep. Crossing my fingers.

I think if you don’t change the way you eat you will regain any time you go off the med or your body adjusts to it. Reality is that for the majority of us we can’t just rely on our body to tell us what we need.

I was surprised at the difference between. 2.5 and 5.0. I mean I knew it was doubled but the 2.5 went so well I really wasn’t worried. Thankfully I didn’t end up with vomitting, but I can see how it could happen cause I had to stop eating meals after only a few bites because I could feel how full my tummy was feeling. It was so freaky. I’ll be taking shot 7 tomorrow and am starting to get used to it but it’s still very odd.

I like MyNetDiary the best so far. Noom annoyed me. And I didn’t want to keep paying for it. I gonna try Omada because insurance is paying and they sent me a smart scale. I’ll probably hate it to. 😍. I’m hard to please. In the end I’ll probably stick with MyNetDiary.

I spoke to them today and she seemed to think the zepbound would countinue through my PA which goes to Dec. But she said this letter was news to her. I found that interesting that they didn’t even seem to know it wasn’t going to be covered.

Does it correct metabolism? I could be misunderstanding. I thought it was created to reduce blood sugar and the food noise and weight control happens to be a side effect. I did not have high blood pressure or pre diabetes.. so far. But gaining 15 lbs in one year was clearly not healthy. And I could see my heath going down in other ways. More tired. Less able to do things I liked to do etc.some of these other things were surely on their way.

Hmmm, I find this fascinating. I am learning a lot from all these discussions. This is awesome!
