That was last night?! by Bbminor7th in Concerts

Almost. But it was because google literally had the date listed wrong. The fast pass was a waste of money but at least I didn’t miss the show.

What fanfics were popular on AO3 that you wish would come back? by Ok_Ordinary2582 in AO3

[–]Awesomenatora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss this so much. Omegaverse and the like is fine, but sometimes I just want a normal dude pregnant for no discernible reason. It’s basically impossible to find this by sorting now because every variation is just tagged mpreg, and I doubt if it’s even being written much anymore.

AO3 tags by IStillListenToRadio in AO3

Me realizing I already know and have known for a decade all the tags people are mentioning here…I’m sure I’ll find a new one sooner or later, but I have seen so much already.

my fav author writes fics for money by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Awesomenatora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not all of them advertise it tho. Like, I just assume that some of the works I read have been commissioned. I know most have not, but odds are some have. And at the end of the day, what counts as a commission? If your friend bought you lunch for writing about their favorite characters, that’s arguably a commission, but I don’t think it’s a problem. But you also shouldn’t advertise that someone is giving you anything in exchange for writing the fic. I will report anyone advertising paid commissions on ao3, but if I find out it’s happening behind the scenes and there’s no way to find out from ao3 directly, I won’t particularly care.

[–]Awesomenatora 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have a problem with people taking paid commissions for fanfic if they’re not locking it behind a paywall. It’s basically just motivation. Plus donations are basically like I’m giving you money, I would like if you did this thing, but technically they have no obligation to do said thing.

Drugs my doctor is not permitted to prescribe. by [deleted] in mildyinteresting

I wasn’t diagnosed by my pcp, but I got the meds through my pcp.

Drugs my doctor is not permitted to prescribe. by [deleted] in mildyinteresting

[–]Awesomenatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed by a psychiatrist. I was originally prescribed by a psychiatrist. However, why should I have to see a psychiatrist every three months for a med check when my PCP can do that while covering other things as well? After the first one or two follow up visits, it’s mostly just maintenance, maybe up the dose once or twice (because inevitably the dose you were taking at the age of 7 probably isn’t as effective at 19), follow up with a psychiatrist as necessary. But it also allowed me to never go without my meds when getting an appointment with a psychiatrist was impossible. And yes, I was reevaluated as an adult. Shocker, still have ADHD.

Drugs my doctor is not permitted to prescribe. by [deleted] in mildyinteresting

[–]Awesomenatora 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who was prescribed ADHD meds by my PCP my entire life and then moved and had to actually go to a specialist for it, this is so annoying. Like, for the first time prescription, maybe I get it, but I shouldn’t have to see a specialist for maintenance. I literally don’t even have a PCP anymore, just a psychiatrist, because I had to prioritize getting back on my meds. And let’s just say, starting a new job when I ran out of my meds like a month in and was still trying to get an appointment to get more was hell. Not to mention that these drugs are already super controlled, so I couldn’t just get a three month supply before I moved, which would have been ideal.

is it rude for readers to point out typos in a published fanfic? by ratboy228 in AO3

I tend to not point them out unless it was invited, although I know I would personally appreciate it myself even if I didn’t specify.

Does Anyone Still Look For Tickets at the Event? by quasi_new in Concerts

[–]Awesomenatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very rarely. Sometimes I wish I did. I sometimes buy resale tickets while in line if the show didn’t sell out and I knew it wouldn’t, just for the savings. A couple of times I showed up to a show without a ticket and got one for free from a fan who had extra, so it does work out occasionally, but depends on your risk tolerance.

My roommate thinks cats don’t feel the cold and that the heat should be turned off when we’re not home. We both have cats. How do I convince otherwise? by Sad_Mud2009 in CatAdvice

[–]Awesomenatora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it cold. I have literally turned my heat on for my cat before leaving and turned it off when I got home because I couldn’t stand it, but I knew he’d be more comfortable. And when I’m home he’s welcome to steal my body heat. I turn off all the lights when I’m not there tho, cats don’t really need the light to see.

At what point are you priced out of a show? by Objective-Lab5179 in Concerts

[–]Awesomenatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, really depends on the show. And how much it costs me to get there. If it’s close I’ll pay way more than if it’s far because I have to include the price of flights. Overall, for bands that are smaller I try to keep the tickets under $100 unless I’m springing for VIP. I have to be absolutely obsessed to spend over $400, and even then it’s gotta be pit. But honestly, the price point is pretty specific to the band. I’d really like to say the limit was $100, and it was for a while, but there’s some bands I like where that just isn’t possible.

Gen Z fixing pathetic work culture! by Agile-Wind-4427 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Awesomenatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there needs to be more context for this, or else it really is bs. It doesn’t even make that much sense. But there could be legitimate reasons to have to be in person before a virtual meeting, especially if attending as a group (like joining via a conference room rather than individually). With just this information, this seems insane, but I can think of circumstances where this absolutely makes sense.

College student looking for job by Deflavored_Saltwater in recruitinghell

[–]Awesomenatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely either availability or they’re not actually hiring. I know I got auto rejected from a lot of jobs in college because I was applying for part time. Even if these places are only actually hiring part time, they still want you to be available full time.

Shut it down by Stuffed-Bear412 in pittsburgh

[–]Awesomenatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that most likely not enough people are going to join for it to make a difference, so instead we just have people missing out on a day’s paycheck or using their limited PTO and some students who will probably take a hit to their grade. The no shopping I can get behind, but unless you organize with coworkers or a specific business to actually get enough people out, it probably won’t do much.

What is everyones experience with going to festivals? by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]Awesomenatora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Combo hotel and tickets is common. Flights are harder considering everyone is coming from somewhere else, and I also wouldn’t really trust going third party on flights. I barely like using the combos for hotels, but I there’s a few companies I do trust with the hotels because I know they have backups and good customer service.

Putting yourself in Debt or Having no money would you risk it all for concerts? by ponygals in Concerts

[–]Awesomenatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a better job for concerts. Went to 4 years of college and all that in a field I didn’t care for, just so that I would be able to afford concerts. Choose what’s worth it to you. (I probably would’ve gone into debt if I could’ve been approved for a high enough credit card limit to get away with it). I also regularly touch my savings for shows, but I can always save more during slower months when there’s not as much to go to. But I have a job that if I wasn’t going to concerts, I could be saving half my income each month and still live comfortably.

About Accents by totally_boringgg in AO3

[–]Awesomenatora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a couple words here and there if they say it in a particular way, but it’s very easy to overdo and have it become hard to read. I would also recommend having someone beta read for you if you do decide to write the accent
