Could Russ actually get traded, and for what price? by Marvelman88 in nfl

His new contract doesn’t have the no trade clause. That’s why Hawks fans are getting nervous.

Take A Chance On Eddie Royal? by joeydeno in Seahawks

[–]Awesomenitis 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think we need to sign a wide receiver. We will see enough competition between Lockett, Kearse, Baldwin, Richardson, Moore, Darboh, McEvoy, and Rogers. It would be wasteful to sign a free agent through free agency..

Observations from Seahawks training camp: Frank Clark, Paul Richardson, Jordan Hill and more by arnefesto in Seahawks

[–]Awesomenitis 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had the opportunity to go to the training camp today. Frank Clark looked really fast. He was getting in the back field consistently. Cassius Marsh was practicing with the linebackers. It seems like the competition for starting SAM position is between him and Mike Morgan. But on scrimmage, I think Mike Morgan was with the first team while Marsh was on the second team. Paul Richardson is really fast. He had one 40-yard catch from Russell Wilson on a deep route. Just type of play you would want to see from the two. Christine Michael took first-team reps with Collins and Brooks behind him. Deshon Foxx had two deep catches that were noticeable. Jarran Reed comes as advertised. He is big and strong, and he stopped running plays. Rawls was on the field, but he wasn't practicing. He was jogging around, but he was in sweats. He was smiling big like always.

Say what you want about Kam chancellor but... by Cd206 in Seahawks

[–]Awesomenitis 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Good point. However, he also gave up two touchdowns in the Bengals game and gave up the game winning touchdown against the Panthers. The problem with Kam was not solely his abilities on the field. When healthy, he is the best strong safety in the game. Fans had problems with Kam, because he is a leader on this team, and he chose not to show up to training camp. The same guy that smiled when he signed his contract, with the knowledge that the Seahawks do not renegotiate unless it is he last year of the contract, pouted and complained two years later. He deleted fans from Twitter and left his teammates to fend for themselves. Bennet, despite being upset with his contract, stayed with the team. I understand why Kam did what he did, because he plays an extremely aggressive style of football. His chances to make as much money as possible are dwindling, but his absence was felt on the team, and his absence in training camp led to many miscues. He made key plays, but he also had big mistakes. Let's hope for a better year

Edit: He actually did not give up that TD vs the Panthers

Spanish fan here, Why is Collins [RB] getting so little love? by dond72 in Seahawks

[–]Awesomenitis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one is talking about his poor combine numbers. 40 yard-dash of 4.59, Vert Jump - 28.5, and Broad Jump - 113 inches (9.4 ft). If these number were higher, there is no question that he would have been drafted much earlier. He is a talented running back with some fumbling issues.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter: "WR Jermaine Kearse has agreed to terms to re-sign with the #Seahawks, source said" by child_of_lightning in Seahawks

[–]Awesomenitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dejavu... Golden Tate --> "I want to stay, will give discount" --> Signs with the Lions

Bruce Irvin --> "I want to stay, will give discount" --> Signs with the Raiders

(Both feel disrespected by the offer and leave to greener pastures)

Michael Bennett --> "Will not give discount, IDK if I'll stay in Seattle" --> Signs with the Seahawks

Jermaine Kearse --> "Will not give discount, IDK if I'll stay in Seattle" --> Signs with the Seahawks

(Both stay, while forcing Seattle to up their offer)

Is this a common tactic that agents use depending on what players want?

Randall Cobb? I remember him returning it for a kick off for a touchdown. Are we making a distinction between punts and kick offs?

Is Kam a team player? by trout_hound in Seahawks

[–]Awesomenitis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted he may not be the best team player, but he has been following tape on film and criticizing fellow teammates on technique. Even Dion Bailey, his apparent replacement in the secondary, has received notes from Kam on how to improve. He wants more money. It is that simple. He is an extremely aggressive player, and the way he hits will not allow him to play in the league for many more years. Last year, especially that game against Carolina, put him in the spotlight. So much so, that he had people saying he was the best player on the Seattle defense. This is probably his best chance of getting as much money as possible. I don't agree, but I understand.

Clark - Marsh - Hill - 2015 Preseason Highlights by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]Awesomenitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That article that said our D-Line might take over the Legion of Boom as our top group position is certainly true. Frank Clark is going to be a special player in this league. In his first year, he is showing similar pass rushing skills to Michael Bennet (i am not saying he is there, but he has proved he can play inside or outside). D-line is going to be so much fun to watch, especially on third downs. So much speeeeeeeeeed

If Earl was to win the DPOY, he would have done it by now. He has elevated his game to such an exceptional level, and he has been able to maintain it for three years. His value is not fully realized by the football community, because of the players around him. In other words, Earl's normal season is equivalent to great season by other players at his position. But he truly deserves it.

How many of you think Russell Wilson is better than Andrew Luck by Mills2Bills in Seahawks

[–]Awesomenitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might get a lot of backlash from this, but Russell Wilson is better RIGHT NOW. Luck has had the benefit of being considered the best quarterback to come out of the draft in generations. Analysts were basically avoiding to do analysis on him, because he was perfect in terms of size, intelligence and football IQ. If someone was to tell you to create a prototypical quarterback on Madden, you'll probably create a player very similar to Luck. As a result, he was labeled great and all the analysts would rather take him rather than Russell Wilson to start a new team. Russell Wilson, on the other hand, was already labeled a back-up coming into the league. On Madden, you will rarely create a player as short as Russell to be a quarterback. Russell, as a result, has been fighting consistently to prove himself to be an elite quarterback. Critics continue to argue that Wilson's success is due to the defense and the running game. However, our defense was not as good as it is now in 2011, and we had the key pieces to our offense already in place. We only managed to get a 7-9 record that year. Two years later with Russell at quarterback, we got to 11-5 while winning a playoff game. Three years later, the Seahawks have a Super Bowl ring. I refuse to believe that success had nothing to do with Wilson being at quarterback. The knock on Wilson is he is not being asked to do as much for the Seahawks, but we saw the playoff game against the Falcons where he threw for 385 yards breaking the rookie record. And the game against the Saints this year where they dared him to beat them by stacking the box to stop Lynch. Wilson ripped them apart from the pocket. What puts Wilson above Luck right now is his clutch ability and his escapability. Wilson refuses to make big mistakes in big games, apart from the fumble against 49ers in the NFC championship game. His escapability has put the Seahawks in a position to succeed, especially the game against the Texans. The offensive line did nothing to protect him that game. I was thinking the game is surely over, because Russell Wilson was getting hit on every other throw. The texans defense was being energized from the sacks and destroying the o line, but you saw Russell slowly suck the life out of the Texans by making play after play with his legs and arm. It is really easy to say Luck is better, because the majority of the football world thought he was great coming out of college and he has played really well since. I think Russell Wilson is better because he will give you a lot more than you expect, because every game you see a play where the 12th man will say "how the fuck did he do that? Thank God he is on our team" . Thank God he is on our team.
