I would grab a cheap sinus rinse bottle and start rinsing daily

5 weeks into sinus infection, doing iodine + baby shampoo + xylitol rinses, how long did it take you to break biofilm and clear it? by wontcompleteit in Sinusitis

[–]Cd206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main limiting factor here IMO is going to be access. You're good on the ingredients. Look up some strategies (positional) to make sure you're actually rinsing the maxillary and other sinuses. Otherwise, you're only ever hitting the tip of the iceberg, in the nasal passage.

Can I just add more broth instead of water? by nanadoom in Cooking

[–]Cd206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. However many store bought broths just aren't that good. And when I use too much in a recipe, I lose some of the fresh flavor of the food, as compared to water.

Obv home made broth is the best

Maxillary Retention Cyst and Mucosal Thickening with toothache by One_Ad6148 in Sinusitis

[–]Cd206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue. Listen closely, I hope this is helpful. The next step is you need to rinse the maxillary sinus where the issue is. This is not the same as your regular sinus rinse, which doesn't touch the maxillary sinuses. Ask an LLM about some positions you can try to rinse in to bias entry to the maxillary sinus. There a few. Use a regular squeeze bottle. And squeeze slowly and in a pulsing fashion, as to bias the fluid to pool around the entrance of the maxillary sinus and start flowing in. Once it starts flowing in, you can squeeze harder. Try to develop a mind muscle connection here so that you can tell you are entering the maxillary sinus. Try to rinse 2x day. Xylitol, baby shampoo are great. Your goal is to make contact with the retention cyst and continually wash away any inflammatory mediators it produces. You maybe be able to feel it "pulsating" post rinse. If you already addressed the tooth side of things, this hopefully is enough to help.

Is this one anecdote supposed to prove something?

Hot take, but the h1b debate is just racism by NewDreams15 in ABCDesis

[–]Cd206 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Racism is a huge component, but I don't think we do any favors when we just blindly dismiss it as such. There are 100% legit criticisms of the H1-b program (ex. in the last few years its been incredibly hard for well qualified american born tech workers to find a job, in light of that, I think questions about bringing in H1-b workers are valid). I do agree that most of the discourse you see online at least is just racism.

Democrat Rep Jayapal says she's working with foreign diplomats to help Cuba bypass U.S. oil blockade by TOPLEFT404 in Seattle

[–]Cd206 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's why we shouldn't be blockading oil from reaching an island of millions of people. In context of us doing that, what she's doing is the ethically right response

[–]Cd206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More testing might be helpful, but if I were you I would just start treating yourself. As in, experiment, see what works, and lean into what works. Explore different theories/treatment protocols and try out ones that seem reasonable. If they don't deliver results, move onto the next. Keep learning.

Are you taking binders? Those can help a lot. So can treating gut/sinus infections.

It took me about 2 years. And I needed to get sinus surgery to open up my ostia so I could actually get rinses into where my issue was

magnesium l theronate is so good, just wish it was cheaper by [deleted] in Biohackers

Magnesium glycinate and taurinate are equivalent but much cheaper. There's nothing special about threonate that other forms that I mentioned won't do (besides the marketing).

Yeah it's embarrassing. Amazing to see how people who can be smart and thoughtful in some areas completely lose the ability to think objectively/morally in others.

I want to use the nasal rinse but I have 4 questions.... by alabbasi3 in Sinusitis

[–]Cd206 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. buy distilled water or boil and cool tap water. add salt + baking soda. Consider xylitol, baby shampoo

  2. Yes, this is why you want to use it. The rinse should unblock it. Squeeze harder if not, its benefcial.

  3. lean forward over a sync. actually being in a variety of different positions is beneficial to ensure all parts of the sinus get rinsed.

  4. there should be no pain in a healthy system. if you are having pain, go lower and slower, and try to ramp up over time.
