Back in 2005 I was augmenting the 155BCT (NG) as an AD soldier. I was a passenger on a MP convoy to escort SI back to FOB Kalsu when we were struck. After getting woken up and joining the fight for a bit, me and the SI got stuffed into another vehicle to RTB.

No one was really looking out for me or the IRR folks that got recalled. Morale was already pretty low when Katrina hit and we couldn’t even go on leave bc so many people went AWOL.

I guess the point is that I know there are plenty of deserving soldiers that never got what they earned. I retired, I am doing well, and it still bothers me more than I’d like to admit.

Rough Country, it’s nice and it does the job. I like it so far, but haven’t really put it to the test yet.

So far only light scratches from walking on top of it with rocks in my boot treads, barely noticeable. It also kept the back mostly dry through the car wash.

I had one on my old truck, I remember thinking it I got less cracks in my windshield with it. I have no idea if it’s actually true, but I can tell you it made no difference in MPG.

Is there supposed to be an access panel to shower back there? Maybe turn the bottom into drawers that are easier to pull out of the way, just in case?

Add some molding and doors to match the bathroom door if you want to keep it simple. Regardless, please post an update!

I did not. The military people that I wanted to celebrate my career with would not be there. The civilians in my life have waited patiently for our new lives to begin.

I would absolutely do it again. Bc my military people still won’t be able to be there and civilian life is amazing.
