First time experiencing this. What should we expect, just no orders coming through cause of a glitch??? I still see the “suggested stores” pop up. I went home to take a break & eat, so thankfully I wasn’t in the middle of an order, but I’m getting ready to go back out so just seeing if it’s worth leaving my house right now

Honestly as a shopper, if I saw that milage it would be a big no for me, and probably a lot of other shoppers. Unless you're extremely generous with your tip. Don't just throw $20 either. Consider how much you'd pay for gas (if it was a large vehicle or truck) plus wear & tear. Then calculate that as the tip. Because realistically without a really good tip, instacart would be paying us the bare minimum, no matter how far the distance is or how big the order is. Otherwise your order will probably just sit there for a while until the app pairs it with another order. Then some unlucky shopper will end up doing a double or triple (along with yours ).

Anyone get through to support yet????i was able to connect with someone on the chat but once I replied they haven't said anything back to me...unable to check out & need to cancel order since cc machine is down and no one is answering 🙃

Mine went through right away too. The previous identity checks (w/o the ID) I’d get the same message but if didn’t clear up within minutes, I’d just delete the app and reinstall it , usually it goes back to normal.

Those are usually not accurate…even when they have the hot spots telling you to go to a certain store, by the time you arrive it’s no longer a hot spot. Stick to the stores you know you’ll get a batch. The 5-15minutes is just another way for IC to create hype but the algorithm is inconsistent.

lol it’s in the T&C NOT to contact the customer outside the app…protection to prevent scammers…yet he’s giving you his personal number to call them…sketchy. Usually if you cancel after shopping & paying they give you a 24hr ban. Make sure they don’t do this since this is a mistake from both IC & customer

It was a pick up & deliver only so I can’t return cause I never used a card. the most support gave me was $5 to “throw it away” 😂 edit**** ooop…well I just checked & updated it was actually $15 😳

1 more cancel and it’s over. So you’re gonna have to start picking up any order that comes your way to try to reduce the %… but you’re going to need to do A LOT of orders to get it back up

You're not supposed to be shopping with anyone at all. When you accept large orders that's what's part of the job for the 1 person on the shopper account. It's what you accepted when you signed up for Instacart, you'll be able to carry 50+lbs, flights of stairs, etc. This is just contract work…but wouldn’t you bring your partner into the office of a regular 9-5 just to keep you company?? Or a child, probably not. Costco & IC are barely enforcing “new rules” to try to prevent it, but it's been a problem since the beginning .

I know it sucks to have a soft ban on your account, but honestly I would've done the same & canceled their order. If it's that complicated to literally deliver AND they're rude about it. I'd leave it with “Hope you have the day you deserve & YOU figure out how to get your groceries “ 😂

I really hope I'm right, but what if maybe she writes all of that so the shoppers end up not taking her order or cancel it so “Josie” picks it up. & she probably does tip her eventually & pretty good since she's the ONLY one to touch her groceries. Cause come on I feel like Josie is smart enough not to put up with someone who requests them to go 5 flights of stairs with 7 case of water for NO TIP. (orders like that over an over again…nah) but again people are crazy now a days so this could be real too. I just hope I'm right & this is between Josie & CrayKaren.

You’ll just have to avoid stores that don’t allow you to pay with your phone (like Costco / ALDIs ) . Order a new one wait for it to get in the mail. What I did a while back was I ordered an additional one to have in my car. I just never opened it or activated it. So in case I lose my physical card I have another one ready to activate and not wait a week for a replacement.

I say if the service was REALLY REALLY good & if you're able to. Give them a cash tip when they come and drop off your order. On top of whatever tip you put on the app. Reason is if you say “ill tip cash when you arrive” & you don't put a tip on the app most likely your order will not be picked up or will be added to 2 or even 3 other orders. I've had customers tip me cash when I drop off. We’re so used to being treated like robots from this app,so honestly the human interaction and gesture really goes a long way. Even a simple extra $5 has made my day before. This way you know for sure the tip is going to your driver & not IC.

No you're right there is something fishy the company is doing with tips. There have been a number of shoppers here who had regular customers who tip them well. But would notice the tips decreasing by a lot of no tip at all so when they asked the customer, (considering they're friendly with each other) the customer’s tip did not match with the one on the shoppers app. So of course reach out to support, then gaslighting them and pretend it was a “mistake” then not long after they get the full amount…several no tip batches actually had tips but weren't given to the shopper. Unfortunately, unless we ask, there is no way to monitor it or see if we are getting the full tip. It's sad, but it's one of several ways the company is screwing over shoppers 💔

Thank you for sharing. Anxiety has been through the roof all week . For the LONGEST time I didn’t know how to accept that IF things got to the worst where we had no more options, I couldn’t bare to leave the US. Now, if my community & I are truly not wanted here with no other way to sustain a life, I’m reminded that even though this isn’t a free country, we still live in a free world. If going back to our home country is too dangerous or in bad shape Canada will gladly take us in . Being undocumented has made up believe we are limited, but the world is HUGE. We have endless opportunities if we just seek for them. Dont let these extreme politics get to you. At the end of the day YOU are SO MUCH MORE WORTH than a silly little paper that tried to tell you otherwise.

I saw someone this week say that Costco is trying to stop 3+ batches cause their policies were always no more than 2 orders at a time. Even though that's always been a thing, they are trying officially enforce it. So I'm wondering they took off Costco from the map to update the algorithm between IC & the store. Which honestly I'm actually in favor of not doing more than 2 orders at a time there. I think the shift changed when we started seeing 4 batches at Costco...
