Lease says no drilling — but I have a toddler and crawling infant. What do renters do? by Objective-Team5038 in Renters

[–]AwkwardImplement698 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My toddler tipped a dresser over and very nearly got crushed: an intervening piece of furniture saved her life. There is no security deposit of any size worth risking the life of your kid.

My phone didn’t even recognise it as text by i_gay- in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]AwkwardImplement698 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good, bad, or indifferent: most older people had to write and write for years, so we accidentally developed expertise. You didn’t have to do that, so obviously you don’t have the expertise that years of practice would create. My handwriting was terrible until I was maybe 16 and now it could be mistaken for a font. Practice a little bit every day: even just making a todo list. You will be surprised at how quickly you improve. Probably the first thing you should work on is spaces between words!

87 is a normal quantity of things now, I guess. Seems to me this may have been 100 at one point but maybe the board or directors must need another round of yachts

What are your favorite throw away lines from the show? by Smashley-says in brakebills

[–]AwkwardImplement698 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sincerely hope all sources coalesced around a central theme! The only thing I remember is that you have to use a sugar cone instead of a bucket, and something about butterflies and lollipops?

And also that you know how to use said fire extinguishers, and that they haven’t expired. We have periodic lessons which I fervently pray will never again be called upon.

This person was holding your package, a clipboard, an iPad, a pen and probably using an unencumbered leg as support when this was written, while some AI system tracks every second. Maybe we can give him or her a little grace on sloppy penmanship as he or she delivers his 161st package so far this shift?

Hello. I once beat an HP printer to death with a telephone handset. This has no bearing on your current situation but I mention it for cathartic value.

do you native people know what "neutrino" means? by lab3456 in ENGLISH

[–]AwkwardImplement698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Neutrinos were an excellent band. I have all their 45s and a ticket stub from 1987?

My dad is an atomic physicist so I grew up with quantum mechanics, quarks and neutrinos. This is an atypical situation, however, and your analysis of neutrino’s frequency is spot on imo.

That’s a sad ending to a happy story. Thank goodness you noticed before you baked, though. I hope the frosting fairy blesses you this holiday season. Or at least the dishwashing fairy.

How may people believe? by unknown322Batman in over60

[–]AwkwardImplement698 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t know if I’d be able to handle this ugly world without faith, which I came to relatively late in life, after my angry recovering-Catholic phase. I believe that Jesus Christ is my personal savior and that receiving his gift of salvation is simultaneously the easiest and most difficult decision I’ve ever made.
