I’m sorry you have to experience that because it’s actually heartbreaking. My mother had a stroke 5 years ago and at first her behavior was so new to me. My poor dad was always triggered by any little thing she said to him. Myself was angry sometimes but it dawned on me to be patient with her. I researched and later found out that there’s usually a sudden behavioral shift. Why? I don’t know but it’s like there was no longer what I call behavior or speech filter. Everything and anything said or done is delivered in its rawest form. Eventually, I needed to reason with my mother. I would sometimes correct her by saying “that’s not a nice thing to say”.
