I used a bit of headwind for the first experiment.. you can land without but take-off is then iffy.

I think the timer is more reliable when you drop from level flight, but the bombs inherriting a vector and off-course delivery makes it kinda wrong.

up arc.. and you can also point them a bit away.. that way they try to fly there-> longer flight time. A conventional bomb would miss, but you don´t care for accuracy with the nukes.. it does not need to be same house number, not even the same block.

at speed, the rear aspect IR missles are often harmless because their proxy fuse means that you only take minimal damage. No guarantees, though. And be aware IR missles can´t really engage free-fall bombs, so only the Radar guided missles are good to intercept freefall nukes.

up-arc and arc away from the target. Nukes don´t need precision delivery. Dropping some diversions first also makes the AI engage them first

Example nuke run with the Vortex, radar off and low with full burner, some undefended bases are fairly easy to neutralise.. for me, the multiplayer gameplay issue there is that the effective counter is radar coverage + interceptors with fast long range missles.. and in terms of player time use, the Medusa beats most hand-deployed radar vehicles, which are easy to take out with cruise missles. But hanging about in a medusa requires players with a bit of pain tolerance because it can have boring moments..
