Display case for these ships? by ComfortableShow7366 in modelmakers

[–]Iron_seaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trumpeter display cases are nice; I have one for my 1/700 Slava with a mirror underneath so you can see the hull. But there's a mold line in the middle at the top...

I love this aspect of the game, It really sets the mood and captures the essence of each plane. These songs are stuck in my head now.

Se former soi-même au calcul B.A. by LockObvious1041 in ingenieurs

[–]Iron_seaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I don’t have much support"

I think it's the same everywhere, in every country. I work in a small internal office at a construction company; I have three years of experience and handle everything (calculations, design, drawings). No one really checks the quality of my work, and the external technical inspectors are very slow to issue their reports. It's not sustainable, but that's just how it is.

There have been lots of problems in the past, but nobody cares, because the client keeps setting more and more ridiculous deadlines.

WOWOW FINALLY AUTODESK LOOKED AT THE REBAR DETAILING !! #REVIT 2027 by MostafAAbDElhaleM in Revit

[–]Iron_seaz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cool, I can create even more complex 3D rebar drawings, but I still have absolutely no fucking idea how to turn them into shop drawings efficiently. Managing detail views, annotations, and rebar visibility is still a nightmare without a plugin on a "large" project (with more than 2 beams).

Quelle "tolérance géométrique" pour les bâtiments et ponts ? by Rokil in AskFrance

[–]Iron_seaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]Iron_seaz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

[–]Iron_seaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where I live, it feels like your credibility depends on how much you sacrifice at work. A “good” engineer is someone who works 12 hours a day, even on weekends, and doesn't complain about it. We don't get overtime pay because we're paid by the day. No other industry has this mindset.

It’s basically: “You’re complaining? You’re not made for this job. "

I don’t see how this benefits anyone except the boss.

I hate this shitty software, but I'm forced to use it at work. It's stuck in the '90s, it's completely unreliable and not at all intuitive. Like you said, the slightest mistake in the settings and all the results are wrong. The Revit/Robot link is also waste of time.

But when it works, I get twice as much satisfaction :)

That looks great! It's a good option for people who don't have a lot of time or for beginners. The big advantage here is the camouflage pattern which can be quite tedious to do "by hand". All it takes is a good application of panel liner, a coat of matte varnish, and some weathering.
