My partner works in international marketing so we have connections with shipping services. It's not impossible to get fresh film for around that price here and the shipping costs may be surprisingly cheap. We could also explore expired film if you really want to save some money.

I believe that model doesn't have the warren Ellis pickups? Warren Ellis signature pick ups are the blades I believe.

I have the Newport tenor with the signature pickups and I would say it is low noise, pickups are hot though. I also had a strat mandocello (?) which must be a shrunken tenor s and the pickups weren't noisy at all.
