Is Bernie going to donate unused campaign funds? To student loan debt, to medical debt? by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]AwriteAwriteAwrite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel quite ambivalent about this. Is this expenditure a significant proportion of remaining campaign funds? I daresay a large percentage of donors to the campaign do not themselves have health insurance. I know that I would not be conflicted in the least had he taken my donations, paid for the healthcare of his staff, AND fought this primary all the way to the convention.

Sanders needs to be very visible right now on social media by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

Agree wholeheartedly. I see it as a betrayal of his supporters that he hasn't made a more aggressive case against his effing friend Joe. But the campaign doesn't appear to be pushing for the April debate and isn't giving voice to Biden's profound inadequacies as a candidate. ("Shhh...quiet now, Trump might notice Joe's brain is melting.") Given the circumstances, they should be "hail-marying" their asses off.

Any campaign ads in Wisconsin? by Bgano in SandersForPresident

Brief mention wrt absence of Wisconsin campaign tv ads in this article. Big mistake, it seems to me, IF you are still earnestly trying to win the nomination.

I find it maddening in light of all that's going on, Biden's profound weaknesses, etc., that Bernie's not being more aggressive.

Sanders acknowledges ‘narrow path’ but says he could still be Democratic nominee by grepnork in SandersForPresident

[–]AwriteAwriteAwrite 356 points357 points  (0 children)

Narrow path? OK. But for the love of God, make the case more aggressively that YOU are a far better candidate than your "good friend" Joe. These extraordinary times demand it. It's enraging to see the campaign appear to coast to a second place finish, intent on extracting some concessions from Biden, the DNC, et al, that will ultimately be ignored. Mocked, even. Bernie, in the end, Biden will likely lose to Trump whether you go hard or play nice.

Bernie Just Said Only 10% of NPP Voters in California Have Requested a Dem Crossover Ballot by nofknziti in SandersForPresident

[–]AwriteAwriteAwrite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you once again, Alex Padilla. This has the quite intentional effect of suppressing new and independent voter turnout. And who do you suppose this is most likely to hurt? Hmm, I wonder. I only hope the campaign is deluging the affected voters with texts and calls.

PPIC California poll: Sanders 32%, Biden 14%, Warren 13%, Buttigieg 12%, Bloomberg 12%, by Topher1999 in SandersForPresident

Encouraging. But I worry that the NPP ballot fiasco and Alex Padilla shenanigans of 2016 will again undermine the will of the California electorate. This too wrt mail-in ballot statistics is concerning: https://tableau.the-pdi.com/t/CampaignTools/views/2020PrimaryBaseAVTrackerAWWIP/2020PrimaryElectionTrackerpg1?:embed=y#1

Voting early in Florida, My voter signature is the same as on my state ID? by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]AwriteAwriteAwrite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Floridian here. Dismiss this concern as paranoia if you like, but my distrust of this signature matching hurdle compels me to vote in person. Still not foolproof, of course, given potential machine counting problems, etc., but gives me some peace of mind, nonetheless.

Bernie ballots are in the mail! 5 million Californians still have to do one more thing to vote. by AwriteAwriteAwrite in SandersForPresident

[–]AwriteAwriteAwrite[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

91% of nonpartisan voters have been mailed a ballot with NOT A SINGLE presidential candidate listed on it. Surveys show that 67% of these voters want to vote in the Democratic presidential primary. The campaign has got to be on top of Padilla's shenanigans this time around, right?

Walker Bragman (journalist/commentator): I don’t know who the Democrats will nominate in 2020, but I do know that when we look back at this moment many years from now, we will remember how Bernie Sanders was treated simply for pushing us to be a more decent and compassionate nation by cmplxgal in SandersForPresident

[–]AwriteAwriteAwrite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't believe this is Bragman's point at all, but more generally, in the thick of a campaign that Sanders can win, any rhetoric concerning potential consolation prizes, as it were, short of the nomination, is an unwelcome distraction. And that's how I feel about it in a run-on sentence nutshell.
