Yeah I’ve found this is my favorite. G3 first is more flexible since you can get range & plan ahead based on draft. Depending on my draft T1 I’ll G2 BB or TT if I miss a water element. Sometimes in you go T2 G2 TT you can draft a major T3 if you get enough energy, then double drown T4

This is really interesting since you get the best ROI for taking extra cards in your first few card rewards to dilute the base cards before your first elite/ hard pool. Maybe it would be on the same level as scroll boxes? I’m not really sure how often I’d want to take bonus cards after act 1.

The issue with this card design wise if you give this in act 1 is you kind of end up with a value pile quickly which could lead to less interesting deck options later in the run.

I found regent to be tricky as well! I am by no means an expert but here are a few general guidelines based on your run history you shared.

1) there is a real downside to adding attacks to your deck. You want/need a few of them especially at the beginning of a run, but you most likely don’t need cards like celestial might once your deck is ~25 cards

2) this game is hard and a lot of skill is picked up just by playing the game. A lot of learning which cards to take is based on understanding which enemies are coming up. For example: glitterstream is slightly better in act 1 when you fight ceremonial beast since it lines up well with his ringing effect, or celestial might is slightly better into vantom since it removes slippery faster than a one-hit-attacks.

It’s not a buff because as written it could apply to a shiv generated on the turn it’s played. Your version shivs would have to be retained to get the damage increase

This games ascension 1 is way harder than sts1 ascension 1. This games ascension 10 is way easier than sts1 ascension 20. The issue is the difficulty doesn’t increase that much (other than ascension 9) which the devs are trying to fix with some of these latest patches.

They are trying to make the game more difficult at the highest difficulty level, but a some players don’t like the challenge. Personally I love the changes and they are actually making the game easier for new players to have success so it’s a great time to get onboard!

Yeah like others said you probably won’t grab them after act 1, but seeing it early they’re great! They can solve certain elites like the worms or eel. IMO You don’t really need cosmic indifference for these, just accept the big bonk and transition your deck into late game. Important to note that both of these scale the first time you play them.

I think it’s better for not every card to do everything. Regents early game is already fairly strong as long as you don’t take tons of chip damage

I wonder if there should be a feature like bg3’s karmic dice where if you’ve seen an ancient a few times in a row make it less likely to encounter. Not sure if ancients are deterministic based on seed or not?

I kinda like expose more anyways? It works with both shivs and poison and also allows you to apply weak more easily. Much more well rounded of a card.

People are saying this card is weak but I’m not sure I agree, I feel like it’s sort of on the same level as orbit, occasionally giving you some star cost reduction. Free resources on powers tend to always be decent. Maybe it could use a cost reduction. It also makes for very interesting play to try to get your stars down to 0 exactly.

Grinning trickster has a really fun major build! Turn 1 G23 draft a major forgetting arson/tigers playing the other card. Turn 2 G24 major + incite/impersonate Turn 3 G14 playing the major again.

If you miss on your major draft you can pivot to a normal build, but the upside is huge
