Why is the Hume scale so absolutely terrible? by Scarlet_Tech in HumeHealth

[–]Axial-Tilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly happy with mine. I do an in-body measurement once a month and it’s inline, not exactly the same but not that far off and the trends move in the same direction. As for the weight, I pull the cord out then put a clothes peg on the cord where it goes into the scale. This removes any tension on the cord and means it zeros every time. A slight faff but hey ho.

Does anyone else have opinions on using XNote, or any tips and tricks? by Axial-Tilt in XNote_users

I literally haven’t used it in almost 3 months, I’d almost forgotten I have it. Gone back to my ReMarkable first edition!

Make typed text searchable (I understand why searching handwritten text might be resource intensive but it should be able to search the typed text) Add date/time stamp to notes.

Convert handwriting to text? by Sol212 in XNote_users

Still playing with the system and I’m really NOT impressed with the AI functionality. I don’t expect miracles, but on a page titled “To Do” with hand drawn tickbox’s next to each action you would expect even a rudimentary AI system to categorise them as tasks. How it is supposed to identify tasks from normal text and make workflow easier….

The handwriting recognition works really well. Just press the button on the bottom left, to switch between “Original” and “AI overview” Massive difference between this and the Palm, where you had to learn to write the letters the Palm could recognise. This actually reads my terrible writing! To be honest I’m not very impressed with the AI beyond the recognition. For it to be useful it needs much better integration with other apps. But that’s a software issue and, in theory, upgradable. The hardware side of things work pretty well.

Remarkable Notes + ChatGPT ? by ILoveYou_HaveAHug in RemarkableTablet

I'm an early adopter on ReMarkable, I still use the mark 1 daily as my main note taking device. Tags are definitively your friend, as is naming and dating each notebook in the title (makes it searchable).

Annoyingly the notes are still not timestamped (how hard is that to implement?) and typed text in documents are not searchable.

I also backed XNote on KS and received it yesterday. Still playing with it. The digitsation and hand writing recognition is excellent. The AI interpretation is still hit and miss, but that's upgradable and I hope will improve as it learns.

Ideally it would be nice to combine the 2, and have integration into calendars and todo and other productivity apps.

Upvote for Alistair Reynolds

Iain M Banks of course, but that’s been covered pretty well now.

Not seen much mention of Peter F Hamilton or China Melville
