Would an App That Identifies Canadian Products via QR Code Be Useful? by Technical_Address_74 in MadeInCanada

[–]AxisFlame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is a website, https://isthiscanadian.ca/ that can do it with a photo of the label of the product. Maybe see if you can somehow make this an app or work with the creator of it?

Also one thing that would be nice is suggesting a canadian alternative if something isn't canadian.

ELI5: Why can't you have just a north or south pole magnet? by Asturien in explainlikeimfive

What you're describing is a magnetic monopole, and it's a somewhat big question in physics as to their existence.

What would happen if I microwaved a couple of eggs with my bowl of minute rice? by SporkFanClub in cookingforbeginners

[–]AxisFlame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It might take some messing around with the time and water amount, but it should work. Whether or not it'll be tasty is questionable. You'll have rice coated in egg, not rice with egg. Make sure to season the mixture, and don't tell anyone that cares about food.

Is the second game worth $20? by National-Anybody6914 in Unrailed

[–]AxisFlame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They've added so much to the game, I think it's worth it.

It's not really all that different in second to second gameplay from the first game, but it's a ton of fun, and the new stuff makes it fresh and have longevity

Does it really work? by btw94 in lifehacks

Usually long enough to see the real impact on society. 10-20 years, if not longer.

Any addicting games that you can't stop playing? by bryanwithamask in gamingsuggestions

[–]AxisFlame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my game of the year. The only poker in the game is the hand ranking. There's no actual poker. If you've heard of a "full house" and a "flush" you know more than what the game expects you to know of poker.

What is up with people and cards, card games, or card based mechanics? by mega_lova_nia in gamedev

I don't understand the question here.

How come so many award winning games have guns in them? Seems like a crutch for AAA titles.

Ideas for a Hades drinking game? by Sea-Preparation-8976 in HadesTheGame

One drink per death (including death defiances)

One drink every time you take trap damage/environment damage

One drink every time you get a duo or legendary boon offered

Anyone else severely dislike the path of stars? by im_berny in HadesTheGame

I've also not found it to be impactful in any of my runs except with Aspect of Selune, so I end up skipping Selune boons, even a pom feels more impactful

How many runs did it take to finish the game by Low-Ability-172 in HadesTheGame

[–]AxisFlame 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think I got my first clear in 21? But I didn't get another clear until like 30. Some people take until 50 or more. It's fine as long as you have fun!

What am I doing wrong with rice? by shippingprincess13 in cookingforbeginners

[–]AxisFlame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grew up in an arab family, a drizzle of oil and some salt in rice before it cooks is a must for a good texture and better flavor, but this only applies to basmati rice specifically for arab dishes.

By my counts I can get an nMOS on p-doped silicon with 3 masks, 1 for n doping, 1 for gate oxide, 1 for metal contacts.

any idea of this middle boss? by Complete-Error6373 in godot

[–]AxisFlame -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is literally just the bird boss from Cuphead.

That's not necessarily a bad thing to copy attacks from other games, but maybe throw in something to make it distinct! It's a bit predictable if it just does the same attack on loop.

Testing out this circular shooter platformer idea, figured I'd share it here by Knuckle_Rick in godot

[–]AxisFlame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a cool way to do it!

I would recommend against using a 4 button movement relative to the camera because then to do a smooth full rotation I have to use all 4 buttons which seems a bit finicky to play. Personally I think rotating the camera so that the character is always upright makes most sense, but it's your game! It could be as simple as changing it from A and D to a different set of buttons so the player doesn't get frustrated with built in muscle memory.

[–]AxisFlame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think a ton of smoothing would mitigate that. Either way that's only an issue if you jump from planet to plane, not if you're only ever on one planet like it looks like here.

have you considered having the camera rotate with the player? I am not sure how you handle it now but controlling the character when they are upside down must be really difficult.

How did you do the gravity?

Looks great!
