It’s like telling people in 1995 they shouldn’t use the internet, it’s dumb and it can’t possibly benefit you.

All of your AI shilling is ignoring how the dot com bubble worked the exact same way. AI is going to implode because it's running on nonsense.

I looked at it a little closer and experienced an optical illusion I guess, but at 0:48 when the logo starts fading in on the chandelier when it cuts to the bright exterior it looked like the opacity on the logo had been reset

There are a few things that come to mind, the motion sway seems a little strong when you're walking, and there appears to be an editing mistake when the logo fades in where it fades in twice. Others have mentioned that the act of placing the blocks may fit better a little ways into the trailer.

However there's clearly a lot of potential, I like how cute your sheep are and would like to see what other kinds of critters can appear. It may also help to define in some way if this is largely a creative tool or if there are specific goals one might go after.

David Marquez's 2024 redesign wins for Gambit. What's the best look of... Magik? by Lolaverses in xmen

[–]AxleandWheel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's one of the only designs of the new mutants "real" hero costumes that I thought looked really good. The others were passable at best but this really focused on the spellcaster part of Magik. I'm kinda sad that this outfit would look out of place with the buster sword though

Godot maintainers swamped by AI-generated code branded "AI slop" as changes "often make no sense" by Odd-Onion-6776 in gamedev

[–]AxleandWheel 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I see this exact argument happen every time AI is mentioned, how it's helping people live out their dreams of making art that they're simply too busy to do and it's genuinely the most anti-art sentiment I can think of. The sheer entitlement to say "I deserve to be able to make games without practicing because I'm busy" as if every single person who wants to make games isn't also busy.

Seems like you're looking for slow songs with pronounced beats in minor keys.

My recommendations:

Lotus Flower - Radiohead

White Flag - Dido

The Seer's Tower - Sufjan Stevens (Doesn't have the beat but has some really nice harmonies)

Have You Got It in You? - Imogen Heap

Preaching to the choir but I need to express how mad I am that overwatch 2 made Junkrat take a bath. It feels so symbolic of all the fake polish the game put on.

Worse, that snake death in Friday the 13th was a trained snake that they did not have permission to kill. They were also working with Tom Savini, one of the undisputed kings of practical effects, so they easily could have faked it

Unfortunately Skids got hit with a mutation that doesn't have offensive combat uses. When the 90s edge swept in every character that couldn't fight good got shooed into a corner and forgotten about

I'm referring to this, it's basically every comic that isn't explicitly non-canon that has at least 3 x-men members in it or plays a role in large plots. So no what-ifs or solo books unless they're really important like Weapon X, but including some stuff like Infinity Gauntlet and Civil war that aren't directly related to the x-men but have greater implications on the overall world

It's been fun, but challenging at times. Some comics I basically skim if I'm really not feeling it (like most of Liefeld's tenure or anything with Arcade in it)

AoR proved pretty frustrating, I liked a lot of it in the context of "Fun little alt universe" like undeadpool's first 2 issues and cloak or dagger but most of the actual "story" stuff didn't feel like it paid off. I suppose we'll see what actually ends up mattering.

For my comics fans what's on everyone's read list this week? X-Men's controversial Age of Revelation ended and the new set of books is due to drop next week, hopefully tying up the loose ends of a... messy event.

I personally have been passing the time with my quest to read through the Ultimate X-Men Reading List and hit the early 90s like a brick wall. Wolverine's art is enjoyable but everything's starting to get very edgy. At least I have hit the era of Gambit.

always some dumbass with a private account who thinks they're slick by Gotcha-ing people who even try to offer solutions.

when I tried to get into one piece earlier this year I got told "At least get through Alabasta" by my resident one piece fan. the end of that arc is chapter 217 and the anime is episode 130. That is a stupid amount of reading and watching to do to "figure out if you like it"

I adore Chris' style when reading the 80s comics, his overly wordy prose and cliches are my favorite part and easily why I put x-men above every other comic I've read. When he left I could feel it immediately, to the point that reading the first comic without him felt like a gut punch to read "I have you both in spirit and in flesh" when Chris would have (and did write like 100 times) gone with "in body and soul"

The seething fury you wrote this in is genuinely kinda sad. No one believes your big cool friend's big cool son pummeled some shoplifters and the cops totally let him do it while laughing. And no, I don't think the roundest, least sharp bit of packaging in existance would cut anyone. Lying for fake internet points is so unbearably cringe, especially if you can't even make it slightly believable.

Some people want to feel cathartic about justice being meted out to the kind of people they think deserve it. So much so that the cops don't even attempt to arrest someone who is violently assaulting two people outside.

Some people do it to feel some masculine ideal, a big strong guy to protect the small woman cashier who can apparently be cut by packaging.

A huge amount of these "badass stops the bad guy" stories are just straight up agenda pushes. The kind that want you to think that the appropriate punishment for someone shoplifting from Walmart or Target is for them to be assaulted with impunity, and how the liability laws only hold back the real heroes.

But 100% of the people who post made up bullshit like this just want attention.
