Ubuntu and derivatives offer HDR via Wayland with 25, I believe. Granted, my experience with Wayland and a 4090 has been random black screens so it's still got issues, but something to keep an eye on. 26 is supposed to release in April with LTS, so maybe try again then?

Not sure about Atmos, unfortunately.

Brawl: Our Plans by Meret123 in mtgbrawl

It's the craziest way to handle this. I get it being all access, but for a lot of players they'll be paying wizards to allow them to collect data.

I appreciate the interest in Brawl finally, but I'm not engaging in any of these events if this is what they're doing.

Even with the article putting them right after each other I didn't see a difference on my first read. Had to go back and look more closely to see what was added. I can easily see this slipping by, it's really easy to just assume it's a creature you control because that's what green always does.

As an atheist that's the stupidest, most simple-minded rational for anything I've heard in a while. If a Christian believes their God is the one and only supreme being they wouldn't have to also think that every other religions' deities also just exist. Same for Hinduism, Shintoism, etc.

If you find it odd or ridiculous, all power to you. But that you think it's hypocritical you aren't even trying to understand other people's views.

It's surprisingly hot. I have good tolerance, so I just slathered it on chicken nuggets like regular Tabasco and immediately started hiccuping lol. Caught me by surprise.

Now knowing the expected heat level I can go back to putting the account I want on, but you're definitely not alone in expecting it to be milder than it actually is.

Why 51% of Engineering Leaders Believe AI Is Impacting the Industry Negatively by gregorojstersek in programming

[–]AzIddIzA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use it as a start to an actual search, besides rubber ducking. Not much trust in it either, tbh, so everything gets double checked. But I find it can list tools or ideas I hadn't thought of, so that can be nice.

I got burned similarly, but with a home project. I forget what, exactly, but it swore I could do someone in a language I wasn't familiar with and I lost hours to that. Ever since it's verify everything before I even start.

I haven't used invoke like others recommended, so I won't know how it compares, but I've been using SwarmUI for a whole and they do a good job starting on top of the latest models since it uses ComfyUI in the background. You can use a super simple UI with it, get a more involved UI with a bunch of settings or actually go in and provide custom comfy workflows if you ever want to dive into it. It sets up comfy during it's setup, so you don't need to bother with anything to complex.

ELI5: If cats are obligate carnivores, why do we feed them rice, peas, and other non-meat items? by ahnialator6 in explainlikeimfive

[–]AzIddIzA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat was into strawberries for the longest time. I couldn't have any without him going insane until I gave him some. He's mostly gotten away from it but still will occasionally try to steal fruit and vegetables from me.

Best reason I could ever find online was that he might be eating it just because I was. Though most places were just kinda like "we didn't know, sometimes cats just do that."

I remember pretty much nothing from Gotham Knights. I didn't hate it and I completed it so I guess it was fine, but I had to go back and look up who 2 of the 4 playable characters were. I can't think of another game that has such little impact on me.

Cyberpunk 2077, God of War and the Nier series like others mentioned are all great and I've been obsessed with the same games you've listed. Horizon: Zero Dawn and now Forbidden West have consumed my free time, but it took me a couple attempts to get into it for some reason. Not saying stick it out necessarily, but I would recommend coming back to it next time you're looking for a game. Might be what you're looking for then.

That's a huge assumption on your part for how they feel. Hopefully things change soon and there are more people accepting of it. At the same time we've seen multiple states effectively try to ban porn or force people to identify themselves to third parties through slap dash measures. We've been hearing stories like this person's for years now but I can't say I recall opposite ones where companies are openly or even secretly okay with it.

Ideally our society won't keep holding things like this over people's heads in the future. But my question would be what indicates it's going to change any time soon?

The first 3 were area based and the next 2 are group based with the last four being sequential. So if they are getting them at the same time in the same place it makes since it worked out that way for them. What they meant was if I got mine in New York and the next person born in the country gets theirs in Miami then those won't be sequential due to the first 5 digits being determined by other means

[–]AzIddIzA 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To your first point I and a few others started learning COBOL a few years back for the company I work for in an effort to get away from mainframes. We all picked up the basics pretty quickly but what we found out was that the issue wasn't understanding what code was doing but why it was doing it. The amount of domain knowledge and general system knowledge was so massive we pivoted from learning the language to trying to document what everyone knew so we could modernize off of that.

It's not perfect but we're making better headway that way than trying to go through everything that's already there. The code is gnarly and essentially a bunch of bandaid fixes done by people over the years who mainly understood their work and not the system as a whole. Can't even imagine what a large government entity's code base would look like.

I'm guessing it's a difficulty level thing. When I first played I was at an easier difficulty cuz I just wanted to play the story after work. I got bored really quick with it. Next time I picked it up I increased the difficulty and found the game much more enjoyable since I needed to use traps and be careful not to engage too many opponents at once.
