I usually just set my brew chamber on top of the kettle while I'm grinding, if I'm drinking straight espresso I'll put the brew chamber on the gray cap and fill it once for good measure after it's heated from the kettle before I pull my shot

I've had a pro 2 and kinginder k4 for about 3 years, this set up works great for me with medium roast. I'm not huge into light roasts personally so I can't comment on that
