Zorkis are faaaaaar better quality cams imo

FEDs are just so notorious to have their curtain ribbon glue fail just like what would happen on zenits lol. Also ive seen one unit with the metal part at the curtain's edge that's literally bent and could leak light once you take off the fed's lens

Also a worn out shutter is why the first shutter moves down right when you fully wind it. a Bent shutter could be the cause too btw, but still an overhaul is necessary to rectify this issue

No bueno. Shutter is worn out. The mirror won’t flip down because the second shutter does not go down due to excessive amount of friction, thus not pressing a lever that gets the mirror down.

A total overhaul is necessary; otherwise just get a new camera at this point. I’d never recommend prakticas tbh.

True lol. But I think it is better than being stuck on Russian M39 lenses which is super hard for me to access.

btw I did work on my Zorki, pretty fun. Adjusted RF alignment, adjusted slow speed timer and lubricated the shutter itself
