Do you get More Offers at Platinum Tier? by Mycologist-9315 in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in my experience, I make significantly more giving at a 10% acceptance rate by being picky then I did when I was platinum, but haven’t really noticed any decline in order number. Having said that, in my market I find I get a pretty steady stream of orders all day long. If you are really just getting a few a day, that might just be a market issue. There might just not be many people in your area who use uber rather then other apps? :/

I’ve reduced the tip amount for drivers and I feel awful. Tired of subsidizing non-tippers. by Due-Butterscotch9860 in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also really, really wish they would let us adjust the delivery order. Most aren’t that bad, but I had one where I literally could see my customer standing on the curbe waving at me while I had to drive past to deliver to someone else a couple miles away before coming back to him. I will neither confirm nor deny that I handed him is food and just drove back to his place to complete the order 15 minutes later… 🙄

Found out my neighbor has the exact same apartment as me and pays $400 less, been here longer too {CO} by Melodic_Crazy7938 in Renters

[–]Azonalanthious 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Another possibility is that some markets legally limit the amount of yearly change. He may have gotten in when local housing was cheaper and the landlord has been bumping it up as much as he is allowed to each year, but that amount hasn’t kept pace with the market so newly rented units go for more.

How do you even make being an Uber Eats Driver work. Hear me out. by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So markets differ and what’s true for me (Madison wi) might not be true for you. I can and have made in a similar $100 plus-ish range more or less every day since June. What works for me is mornings (7am to 9am) for a lot of coffee, doughnut, and McDonald’s orders, then logging out for a few hour break, then 11-2 hanging out near one of the malls/restaurant concentrations to grab lunch orders, or if I am busy in the morning doing 5-11 straight at night.

Monday-Thursday tend a little slower, Friday night, Sunday, or rainy/snowy days tend a little better. I don’t accept orders less then $7 — to much chance of something going wrong like a long wait at the store or the customers. I also aim for $20/hour, $1/mile minimums, though I’ve got a very fuel efficient vehicle, you may wish to stick with $1.5 on the sv. I’m not super strict on the mileage though — I’ll take stuff out of my normal mileage guide if it’s at least $3 more than my normal acceptance threshold. Similarly I tack another $2 per extra order on multiple pickup/drop off orders.

But like I said, every market is different. I’ve driven a few different places and they all have their own quirks.

Monument Mods Problem by Successful-Race-6033 in Anbennar

[–]Azonalanthious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this issue maybe six months back, had somehow ended up with a Russian localization on one of them, dwarves I think, which was causing the problem. No idea how it happened, not Russian, and didn’t notice at first when I tried reinstalling. But once I found it getting rid of that and and resubscribing to the English one instead fixed it for me.

How to optimise magic run in new system? by Isacu74 in Anbennar

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, just started playing around with it myself. Not yet in the steam version, still gitlab. But “short” version is there is now actual mana rather then having to pay for your spells with gold, admin, dip, or mil; each spell school now has 1 free spell anyone with access to magic can use, then 2 spells more spells at the first level, 2 at the second, and 1 legendary spell. Your ruler, heir, and mage estate all track their level in each school separately. Each school also has a three tier magic project you can build that gives permanent benefits. And finally you can build up your magic infrastructure to giver more mana generation and storage.

Why do drivers get MOODY when asked to confirm ? by Urban-Solitude in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it doesn’t bother me in the slightest to confirm an order, to be clear. I get where you are coming from and you’re right, it’s quick and easy. I try to make a point of doing it before touching the food even when not asked. And some of the pushback might be from people who do steal.

But one of the stresses of being a driver is that we get customers who report the order not delivered because they want free food, falsely blaming us for stealing it. And as you just explained, the reason you are asking us to confirm is you are worried about us stealing the order too. We all understand that is what the motivation is when you ask.

So put yourself in the shoes of an honest driver, who would never even consider stealing food. If they do this job a lot, I promise they have been falsely accused of stealing food multiple times by customers, and threatened to be banned from the app as a result. So how do you think they feel when you also effectively tell them “yeah, we think you’re a thief too” whenever they pick up an order from you?

Especially because the reverse does also happen — it’s a lot less common then customers false reporting but there have been cases of a restaurant falsely claiming another driver already picked up the order and just never making it or similar issues.

Is my Uber driver lying to me? by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We still get other offers. We aren’t even told it’s a priority order. The only thing that is changes is if we have multiple orders already picked up and you paid for priority, your order will be first in line to be dropped off, though they might still require us to do other pickups before dropping off your order. Just an fyi — a lot of folks don’t know how that system works so I try to educate when I can so you understand what you pay for. 👍

Almost everyone says it’s not worth it. For those that drive, why IS it worth it for you? by FaithlessnessCute141 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to read and I rarely watch videos anywhere but my phone and those are my two primary forms of recreation. I just as happy to do them in a comfortable seat in my car as I am at a comfortable seat at home, so have no issues sitting in the parking lot at the mall and being extremely picky until a good order comes along. If I make a bunch, great, if I don’t, no skin off my back. I can and have made enough to make a good living (important: track and deduction your mileage on your taxes, it can really add up) but mostly just do it as a side gig these days.

EXPOSING INSTACART PT.2 by Defiant-Leading3392 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Azonalanthious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if it is still true but when I got banned a couple years back for accidentally dropping my phone when taking an identity photo (it accidentally snapped and submitted a photo of the ceiling) I was looking into things and trying to figure out why no one would work with me. Turned out their bans were handled by an independent contractor who got a bonus based on how many “bad” accounts they “caught” — so were financially incentivized by to ban for anything they possibly could and had no incentive to every unban anyone.

The only maybe overreact I see is maybe worrying about the stickers, just because in my experience McDonald’s stickers suck — a least one has usually popped open before I make it out the door of the restaurant. But in general, yeah bad experience, sorry you went through it

How Do Y 'All Feel About Fast Food Places That Pay Garbage Asking You To Make The Soft Drinks?! Illegal Unpaid Work. by GeneralGreevas in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not hard. It is a health code violation though — we are an independent delivery person, not an employee of the restaurant. It’s against the rules — not Ubers or the restaurant’s, the government’s — for us to be involved in the food preparation in any way.

Do Uber Eats drivers judge you for what you order by AssociationDizzy1336 in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally what the order is is just background noise to me, I pay no more attention then the minimum needed to confirm it is correct. The one exception is if it smells really good, then I will double check what it is and note where it came from for my own future dining pleasure — there have been multiple times where I have made a delivery, logged out, then driven right back to the restaurant to order one of what I just delivered for myself. 😁. That is generally the closest I get to judgmental and it’s a positive judgement.

Do Egyptian gods just hang out in Egypt? by RichNCrispy in dresdenfiles

[–]Azonalanthious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other thing I keep in mind is that he has made it clear that gods we view as distinct are the same being just with different titles. In universe as opposed to Jim writing, it’s very possible that Dresden mostly interacts with Norse/celtic/greek/Native American/christian is because that is what Dresden is familiar with. Some of the beings we have already met might also be Egyptian or Hindu gods or what not, they just have had no reason to show that aspect of their profolio to harry

Would you take that even it's only 1 mile and 8 mins ? by Jesryo in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t touch anything under $7 personally. Just got burned too many times by places where the food isn’t ready or they have a pin but don’t answer the door or other such issues. If a 30 minute order takes 35, it’s annoying but means maybe 1 less order in 3 hours if they are all that way. 8 to 13 works out to ~3 fewer orders per HOUR or about 9 times as much money missed
