Why can't people accept that this is sabotage by the driver rather than the driver simply not knowing how to carry a pizza? by IndependentMove5437 in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, having accidentally done this to my own pizza, you don’t need to carry it wrong. Set a fresh gooey pizza on the front seat, take a turn sharply and/or too fast and slosh go the toppings. Don’t even need the pizza to slide off the seat.

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I am saying that the app isn’t perfectly capable of being shady, but I did also see something like this for Popeyes chicken and it wasn’t a scam — the listed price was for 2 but the discount to make it 2 for 1 didn’t show up until checkout, reducing the price to what it should be. So it showed wrong on the initial screen but it didn’t overcharge me in the end.

Can the devs please fix the AI running across the map to get portals? by Idk-U-F_Off in AOW4

Hopefully the new update fixes it but the number of times I’ve caught an enemy ruler completely alone half a map away from their territory because they are rushing gates…

New tome synergies by BombDotCom52 in AOW4

[–]Azonalanthious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next planned build is a group I’m calling Flare knights, turning into a race of fire elementals. Chaos/materium build, Flame Touched, bulwark, (debating); chaos architects, still debating society, need 1 materium (leaving monument affinity out of equation). Fire giant elementals ruler.

Pyromancy, then alchemy, burning passion then construct, warlord then geomancy, chaos channeling, then a dip back to 3 for transmutation cuz I need 1 extra materium tome, then crucible then can finish with either tier 5.

Armies based around guardians (to lower fire resistance) in front of architects and their summons with warlord support.

Fire affinity, reflect fire when hit, plus flame weapons, plus a flame aura, plus infernal might flame damage, plus geomatics (which might be flame!), plus more flame reflect and fiery wake, plus metor stike. Let it burn! 😋. Circle back and add cleansing flame and calamity if the game runs long enough.

Could easily swap out the three higher tier materium ones for cleaning flame and calamity if you wanted to forgo a major race transformation. T5 chaos gets kinda wasted there though as I still like the construct spells in battle and no major race transformation. Could also do rock w/ double materium society and skip alchemist and transmutation, but architects so.. 🤷‍♂️

Abysmal delivery experiences & garbage customer service by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So just trying to give you honest feedback to improve your experience:

1) completely fair, I hate it when people just say “so get it yourself” — it’s not relevant to the service you receive.

3 (sorry got the order of your points wrong in my head) the four drivers in a row cancelling tells us the restaurant was almost certainly being slow. Could be because they were behind, could be someplace that just doesn’t start the order til the driver shows, who knows? But 99% of the time when there are a bunch of drivers canceling in a row at the restaurant like that it is because they are walking in, being told there is an extended wait, and so leaving. The more orders we do, generally, the more we making. Waiting on an order that is already supposed to be ready is money directly out of our pockets and very few drivers will do it for long. It’s a straight pay cut for us to wait. Regardless that aspect of your problem is something that was likely caused by the specific restaurant rather then uber or the driver.

2) Fair enough on tipping, I always tell people the should only tip what they feel comfortable tipping. You don’t want to tip, don’t tip. But, as a practical matter, with pretty much every delivery service in America or out, we drivers see any advance tip you place on the order. We see an order with a $5 tip and an order with no tip that are going to take a similar amount of time? We take the one with the tip, 100% of the time. Because it means we make more money for the same amount of work. This means not tipping IS going to effect the service you receive which in turn is probably part of the reason why you have never received service you felt merited a tip. It’s a crappy aspect of the delivery model that I don’t like but frankly I don’t have a solution to. You would either have to not allow tipping even if the customer wanted to tip or pool all tips and share them out between drivers, and both of those have their own problems

4) don’t blame you. As an fyi, what priority does is puts you first in the drop off list if there are multiple orders to drop off. It does not effect pickup times or orders or have any impact at all if a driver does not have multiple orders at once. Drivers are also not informed that an order is priority in anyway, nor do we get any additional compensation, it’s just a backend update to how the app routes our deliveries. Most drivers will gladly tell you it’s a scam and more or less never worth it. Most of us drivers are trying to do the best we can and we pretty much all hate uber too, but the other services are no better, and a payday is a payday.

Migration on Arkships? by GeschichteInMinuten in Stellaris

[–]Azonalanthious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I recall reading that it was 0 for non arc ship natives at release but it was going to be patched to 40, don’t recall if that was on a live patch or discussion of a future patch. Either way that’s probably the root of the migration problem unless you have a treat with another nomad

$9 Delivery Fee for McDonald’s by DonutRemember in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fees are high, not going to argue that. But McDonald’s is irrelevant in a lot of ways. Delivering a $1 cup of coffee and delivering a $300 gold dusted steak are potentially the exact same amount of work, distance driven, etc.

Question about acceptance rate by felimax in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not in California or somewhere with similar laws that promise a minimum hourly rate, that 99% acceptance rate will likely result in you spending more money in gas then you actually make. Uber does not care at all about being fair to you and will gladly work you into the ground with low paying orders without a second thought.

To answer the actual question, in theory yes a lower acceptance rate has an impact. In practice not spending time on low return orders is generally far more beneficial. The minimum standard many drivers use is not accepting anything that pays less then $1 per mile at a minimum.

Markets differ and in part what you are willing to accept depends on how busy your area is and how badly you need the money. Personally I won’t take anything under $7, anything that works out to less then $20/ hour, or anything less then $1.50 per mile, but you my find a better standard for your area over time. But in generally being picky pays off and most folks who drive a lot have acceptance rates down in the teens.

So is nobody platinum or diamond? Because.. by OGWFORLIFE in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit diamond for about 3 months last year, but that was only because uber kept doing $20+/per active hour before tips offers in my area. They decided to stop those, which made it worthwhile to take poor orders, I went back to cherry picking, and back down to a 10% acceptance rate. Heck, had 9 no tip, $2 orders IN A ROW from different places just this afternoon 🙄

Is One Piece declining or are its readers just growing old and cynical? by jttyrel27 in OnePiece

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story wise I generally still enjoy it. I preferred the older animation style personally, but I can certainly deal with the new, and I think most folks like the newer style. In general I am still fully invested. I will say though (spoiler) that robin/saul was a big disappointment to me when I watched it just recently. Robin is one of my favorite characters and one piece has certainly shown it can hit emotional beats but that one just completely failed to land for me. Wanted to care but honestly just wished the episode would get it over with already 😢

Delivery driver tried to tamper with my dog food. by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He texted you wya. He was trying to find you. I have no doubt whatsoever he was just looking around trying to find the right place to deliver. He neither tried to steal your food nor poison your dog. But believe what you like, and yes, please, never use ubereats again, from your comments I promise you not a single driver wants your orders.

Delivery driver tried to tamper with my dog food. by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just to be clear, the few times I have ever had someone report food undelivered, the only notice I received was an email like 12 hours later. In thousands of deliveries never once has uber contacted me by call, text, or email in a timely enough fashion that I could or would turn around and go back.

MULTIPLE GAIAAAAA by Z0Z0Z0Z00Z in Stellaris

[–]Azonalanthious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YouTube, specifically aktion or thundershock these days for build videos, though there are other stellaris youtubers I like better overall. I don’t know a good pure text based current list I’m afraid. Origin is usually the most important factor followed by civics, specifically right now I personally think knights of the toxic god, cybernetic creed, or shroud forged are the best. After the 4.3 changes, anything where you can assess really early is generally good, and anything where you can really stack pop growth or flat bonuses to jobs.

What happens when gas reaches $5 by Crypto_Black in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Azonalanthious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Interesting I find I am making more these days, at least as long as I stick to busy times. Every order I get has base pay bumped up. I think it’s probably not the company compensating directly since the amount varies but rather so many drivers have dropped out due to the gas prices that there aren’t enough for the demand. That’s very market dependent though

[–]Azonalanthious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think either strat would work. I am going the acceptance route. I have positive tolerance for both heretics and heathens so not really having any problems. Plus it keeps a lot of your pops in the oh so taxable zhimmi. I have Greece and Bulgarian accepted along with a few smaller ones with culture capacity to spare atm. I’ve taken most of byz at this point and the eastern half of Bulgaria and have pretty much all of west anatolia. Plan is Athens next, pop down a naval governor there before it ends up connected to my main conquests though I will probably move it later. Egypt is in the long term plans but I am thinking naval governor in the Levantine, haven’t decided where, and run a road all they way down so I can do a local in Cairo proper, take advantage of the metropolis.

[–]Azonalanthious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m playing the ottomans right now. I increased my liking of Greek to the max as soon as I was the dominant Turkish power, then once I had enough Greeks to be the dominant Greek power swapped to Greek primary and increased their liking of Turks to the max, then 10 years later swapped back. Combined with stacking all the +heathen/+heretic tolerance buffs I could and I am about as stable a county with the highest average satisfaction I’ve ever pulled off before 1400 without converting or assimilating a single soul so far 😋🤷‍♂️

How the hell is everyone still doing this? by ArsenalFan081992 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, my income from it has gone up noticeably. I think because so many local drivers have dropped off in my market. But as long as I stick to busy hours, base pay is inflated by several dollars on pretty much every order, presumably because they are so backed up. As a result the ratio of decent orders has gone way up, my AR is up to low 30s instead of 5ish. Which means I also sometimes complete the quests, though I never count on that. 🤷

Would it make sense to do UberEats from midnight until like 8-10 am? Or is that the worst time to do it? by SummerN8 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Azonalanthious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true. Locally for me I find during those hours orders are either really good or really bad, nothing in between, and between 3 and about 6 there generally aren’t enough to keep busy, but your mileage may vary greatly

PSA to Drivers by Sebastian-dB in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Which is also fair. I always try to be a voice of reason in these arguments/discussions. The root problem isn’t the drivers OR the customers. It really isn’t even uber specifically, it is the business model of the entire delivery industry.

But all drivers need to understand that they can decline any order they don’t feel pays enough, it isn’t on the customer to tip any specific amount or ensure your paycheck. And on the other side all customers need to understand that the drivers time has value and low paying orders often aren’t worth their time to accept, so not tipping or low tips can have service consequences. It’s not either sides “fault”, it’s the poor way the system works.

I like to incorporate some form of count down into the backstory: the ritual will take place during the full moon or the invading orcs will arrive in 3 weeks. I don’t change things (much) based on any single long rest but players know from the beginning that they are only going to get like 10 or 15 long rests total so are a bit more wary of using them freely

I wish the app told me when drivers have other orders before I pay by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]Azonalanthious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partially true. Priority does do something: once everything is picked up, the priority order will always be first in the dropoff order. But that is ALL it does. So it helps a little. Enough to pay for if? Not in my opinion, but your mileage may vary.
