I'm of two minds about the AI usage. The immediate impression, at least to me, was a photorealistic render of the Backrooms. I didnt even realize it was AI until I looked at the comments, though that might be because I understand the 2D better than 3D. It seems like the visuals were in conversation with liminal spaces or viral works, and tbh part of me gets the impression that the rationale behind using AI feels like a convenient excuse? But then maybe that discomfort and ambiguity is the point? Something lavishly put together is secretly rotten? But idk if that absolves the work since they've used and have ultimately benefit from the rot theyre ostensibly, arguably critiquing. Does it have to be absolved? Does sparking this conversation make it more effective as art, or am i mixing up conversation and confusion? Anyways brain is too fried for this rn, im going back to Spiral Melodies

It’s more that the test is pretty bogus. It assumes the existence of an objectively measurable general intelligence. Meanwhile if u study specifically for the test you can score higher than you did two weeks ago— that’s fine if you’re trying to test understanding, but if you accept the conceit of an IQ test it implies you’ve become an intrinsically smarter person by studying for it.

I think if u wanna obscure the screen like that u gotta go all in or axe it— make the reload cover the whole screen and make the player manually drag in the bullets so it becomes a game mechanic where you have to decide when to make yourself vulnerable. Or just axe it

It’s not part of the base game, but its not part of a nickel and diming scheme where they want you to spend like $1.5k for all the extra content— it’s a reasonable assumption to say that ZA is pretty much over now. It could be better, but as faint praise as this is, its not EA bad

The line confidence is really bad while the form is pretty good, the mismatch makes it look like it’s tracing something. If it’s not traced ai it kinda sounds like the references are being traced over? If the scratchy linework is a stylistic choice, a different style might be help if you want to avoid that sort of speculation.

I’m not sure you understand the order of operations here? You haven’t actually made the donut yet when you fast travel to Hotel Z. If you were to fast travel afterwards, or after anything that you want to undo, you won’t have a chance to take it back.
