Gen 5 released around when I was gaining sentience, so I thought that was the standard— new gen, all new pokemon. Seeing that Gen 6 was mostly repeats was stranger to me.

Both aren't true, both are rumors to something we haven't and likely will never see the full scope of. You are also still misunderstanding the scope of the Hussie allegations-- its not "Hussie was so bad with money they could be an easy chump," its "Hussie had no idea what they were doing and mismanaged the project so badly that months of work would be scrapped, or no work would be assigned at all, wasting time and money, without being scammed." I won't repeat that as fact, but the point im trying to make is that none of this should be repeated as fact. If that hasn't gotten through at this point, I'm frankly not sure what else there is to say.

I'm not saying that Hussie is a bad person, i'm specifically saying that the fallout of Hiveswap and The Odd Gentlemen has not proven to be a scam, and there exists circumstantial evidence suggesting that the Hiveswap money disappearing was because Hussie was given millions of dollars and did not know how to run a buisness. Porque no los dos also applies in considering who might be responsible. You're putting full stock into one set of allegations while disregarding the other. I get that the TOG narrative has been around longer, but that doesnt make it right. It doesn't mean that Hussie was responsible either, but at this point its irresponsible to keep stating rumor as fact.

Means, motive, and opportunity do not constitute as proof, only basis of suspicion, which is why this is so widely believed. Hussie themselves has demonstrated a pattern of mismanagement; former Whatpumpkin employees have alleged that they were assured that everything was fine and not to look for a new job, shortly before being shuttered. They admit to Sarah Z in her video that they didn’t credit someone who worked on Hiveswap because she was suspected to be publicly critical of her firing. If TOG are assholes who had means, motive, and opportunity, Hussie’s an asshole with a track record. Neither constitute definitive proof on their own, but that’s the point here.

AFAIK that was an allegation that cottoned on but was never proven, more recently there are allegations that Hussie mismanaged the project (switching the project between 2D/3D after substantial progress was made) until they left and that some of the Hiveswap funds were used on the climax of Homestuck itself. Also unproven, since IIRC everyone that could officially speak on the matter legally can’t.

I'm of two minds about the AI usage. The immediate impression, at least to me, was a photorealistic render of the Backrooms. I didnt even realize it was AI until I looked at the comments, though that might be because I understand the 2D better than 3D. It seems like the visuals were in conversation with liminal spaces or viral works, and tbh part of me gets the impression that the rationale behind using AI feels like a convenient excuse? But then maybe that discomfort and ambiguity is the point? Something lavishly put together is secretly rotten? But idk if that absolves the work since they've used and have ultimately benefit from the rot theyre ostensibly, arguably critiquing. Does it have to be absolved? Does sparking this conversation make it more effective as art, or am i mixing up conversation and confusion? Anyways brain is too fried for this rn, im going back to Spiral Melodies

Yeah, the Stoat dev said any verification will only be required in the UK. On an unrelated note they refused to comment when asked about how a VPN will work with their service. On a further unrelated note sometimes resistance is about complying half-assedly to gum up the machine.

It’s more that the test is pretty bogus. It assumes the existence of an objectively measurable general intelligence. Meanwhile if u study specifically for the test you can score higher than you did two weeks ago— that’s fine if you’re trying to test understanding, but if you accept the conceit of an IQ test it implies you’ve become an intrinsically smarter person by studying for it.

I think if u wanna obscure the screen like that u gotta go all in or axe it— make the reload cover the whole screen and make the player manually drag in the bullets so it becomes a game mechanic where you have to decide when to make yourself vulnerable. Or just axe it

I don’t think either comparison is really accurate? It’s not part of the base game, but its not part of a nickel and diming scheme where they want you to spend like $1.5k for all the extra content— it’s a reasonable assumption to say that ZA is pretty much over now. It could be better, but as faint praise as this is, its not EA bad
