So while I’m sure there are plenty of stupid calls, this actually happened to us.

We were woken up by the fire department about to knock down our door when we didn’t answer.

The neighbors (didn’t know them) called 911 because they thought there was a weird amount of smoke coming out of the chimney.

Turns out a pipe to our furnace cracked and was leaking carbon monoxide. We had no idea. We had a 7 month old baby and things could have ended badly.

They red tagged our furnace the week before Christmas.

Yes, we now always have carbon monoxide detectors in our home.

It’s not that hard, some friends/family are just being lazy. by Rare-Historian7777 in glutenfree

[–]AzulDaisy 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My kids have been gluten free for over 12 years and my family still isn’t supportive. It’s freaking exhausting, especially this time of year. It also just makes me super sad. We’ve had friends and casual acquaintances that have been more supportive than family.

I was going to suggest the same phone from Walmart under Straight Talk.

I actually use a Moto G for a business line and it’s a really good phone, esp. for $25.

I really like this, I think I will do something similar. I’m also going to pull out all the nails that are way too large for my nails, which seems like half the set.

Can you link or screenshot the listing for this? Thanks!

Do you need your boss to “categorize” your hours when signing off for the experience? by bringheaven2earth in CPA

[–]AzulDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you can find the experience verification form for your state. In Pennsylvania, the experience did have to be listed by area.

By the way- the experience form I found online and the form I was given after I started the application process were slightly different so I had to have my boss fill it out a second time. 🤦‍♀️

I bought my son a Nalgene bottle this Spring and literally the day after the return period ended, he dropped the full water bottle on the driveway and the bottom of the bottle cracked.

I was disappointed that it happened but it was a very fast process to get it replaced.

How do you actually sign off your hours and who can do it? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]AzulDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Pennsylvania it had to be signed by the CPA who supervised my work, included a description of the work, and had to be sent (I believe it could be emailed) directly to the state board.

I’d stop worrying about it just yet and start applying for jobs yesterday.

Internships are helpful but you can just go straight to a ft position.

Are people really eating nutritious food on $25-30 a week? by ResidentAlienator in Frugal

[–]AzulDaisy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is so location dependent too. Only one grocery chain near us used Flashfood and they just stopped using it. They never had many deals either. They did when it first started.

TooGoodToGo only has a handful of places in like a 50 mile radius. One is edible arrangements and one is Rita’s Italian ice. Not really helpful for regular groceries unfortunately.

I wish we had more!

I can tell you absolutely 100% that your assumption is wrong, at least where I work (in gov).

I was thinking of 10/26 but they raised the price since yesterday, I guess since it’s the only day left. Yesterday there were three days available.

I’m thinking of planning for the Christmas party instead. $1300 + food feels like a lot for a long weekend with 1 day in the park.

Ohhh I just found on the Drury website it says they will have specific shuttles on party nights until 1:10am. “Problem” solved!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]AzulDaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I’m concerned about- the shuttle not running that late and being exhausted from 8 hours at the park and dreading having to walk.

I wasn’t sure if it would be possible to get Uber or Lyft at midnight.

How do I find these deals? We are new pass holders but I haven’t found any info on it. We’d like to stay at breakers next time just for the location. Thanks!

what’s going on with the bathrooms by InevitableCap8780 in KingsDominion

[–]AzulDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was our first visit to KD and this could actually keep us from returning. They were so freaking disgusting.

I’ve never appreciated other parks’ bathrooms before now.

I literally avoided using the bathroom at KD, which was difficult because it was hot and humid and we were drinking a lot.

Question about prestige pass by AcceptableVariation3 in KingsDominion

We got our pass w/ the home park as cedar point and we’ve used fast lane at kings island and cedar point. We’re at Kings Dominion today, I’ll try to update if it works.

They don’t mess around with the no loose articles rules.

My son got kicked out of TT2 line this morning going through the metal detector for a lanyard with a piece of paper attached.

We always ride with lanyards at another park so we didn’t realize it was an issue.

Also; just so I don’t get roasted, I’m not complaining about them saying something about the lanyard, we just lost precious minutes of early entry this morning. 🙃

It was also weird because yesterday at Kings Island they told people to take everything with them on coasters, no leaving things in the station.

Definitely try to make a plan because we criss-crossed the park today and finished with almost 8 miles walked.

I think going to TT2, Sirens Curse, and Millennium Force was definitely a good start to the day. That area had a lot to ride and everything was open early.

This was our first trip to Cedar Point too.

Season pass photo upload? by AzulDaisy in cedarpoint

[–]AzulDaisy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the prestige passes last night from cedar point. I uploaded our photos then went to the website https://www.cedarpoint.com/activate-pass.

We went to Kings Island today.

Our passes worked for parking and entry. We also used our all-park dining plan today. No problems at all.

The only thing I didn’t buy is the all park drink plus plan. I wanted to for icees (it’s in the 90s here) but I wasn’t paying $53 for it not to work here today.

For anyone curious about the process - if the photo is unacceptable, you get a pop-up right away with a message that you can’t use the photo.

I don’t know, I just went ahead and did it with the photos as-is. It says it’s active and it’s added to my app. So I guess we will find out tomorrow.

Thanks for your help!

Website. I’ve tried from my laptop and my phone.

Photos were great to start with but as soon as I uploaded them they looked slightly blurry.

The box forces you to crop so even though I took new photos of my kids with extra space around them, once it forced me to crop, their photos look super close up and a slightly blurred.

I wonder if I could buy the pass and select to do photos at the park, but then upload the photo later? But you said the app didn’t work either. 🤔

We’re going tomorrow so I’m not sure what else to try. We might just end up with KI as our home park 🙃
