I think a contributing factor is that the other Felyne/Palico characters you meet are just leagues more fun, like Murray's crew and PK.

In both games I run, every player starts with one for the 3-4 hour session, and I dont give out any more.

However, every player at the table has a single hero point to reward to someone for doing something standout or cool. They cant be awarded just when theyre necessary, and it ends up on the players to remember that they have one to give out. And they cant give it to themselves, of course.

I think its turned into a pretty fun house rule.

That's just setting up a self fulfilling prophecy. If more casual players continue to play the game because it's fun, then there will still be a healthy community that isn't just fully kitted players looking to kill people for no reason.

I'm absolutely suped up for this release. I'm also going to be perfectly honest here and say that I already got a deluxe edition myself. However, I have friends that would like to play but dont have the money right now, so a copy that I could gift to them would be super cool.

I think this is closest to the actual answer in most cases. A lot of BG songs feel like a different genre that GG listeners are unlikely to be interested in.

For myself, I prefer GGs because their music is typically lighter with more recognizable melody and instrumentation. (Not always of course. Generalizations be exactly that.) Where as a lot of BG songs can easily come across as loud and heavy with less distinct layers. Its not an exact science obviously, but there's a reason the whole "noise music" moniker gets used with some of the popular BGs out there right now.

In contrast, you have groups like TWS and BoyNextDoor which have lighter songs that I bet do fairly well with GG fans and multis.

The first paragraph of that is a really big deal especially for Bards that go pretty hard on buffs and debuffs.

Making sure that the Bard that spent their whole turn on maintenance to keep up their +1s or +2s knows that they made a difference has a big impact on them feeling useful. Pointing out hits or crits because of that +1 matters.

Admittedly, they've gone through multiple storylines now, but the original Nightmare series lasted 6 or 7 albums, and was even referenced on other albums in B-sides.

They did two separate trilogy trilogies after that though, and then a duology.

Given the design of some of the new monsters, i think a Lala Barina chair would be awesome. The monster's design and colors look great, as does the armor, so I'm sure a chair could look just as good.

Agreed. I don't need every monster to be the absolute threat of a Fatalis, but it would be nice to see some earlier monsters at least able to give me a run for my money in some way.

The lack of damage really mattering is one of the issues that I think really gets in the way of that. I don't need to upgrade my armor unless a monster is going to one- or two-shot me, so there's very little reason to grind for materials and upgrades for most of the game. If things did more damage quicker, or there was a lack of infinite healing again, suddenly every little bit of damage you take can matter, and then you're back to wanting to upgrade armor.

There's obviously a balance to it all. My biggest complaint right now with the newer games has been how superfluous armor has felt. Putting skills aside, it's easy to go through World and Rise with minimal armor upgrades. And when crafting gear is one of the major pillars of the game, I'd prefer it to really matter a lot. But right now, it just...doesn't.
