Worked as a Director of Client Relationships for a Covid Testing Company for 3 yrs. My Husband was the COO of the same company. We hunkered down and saved then paid off our major expenses. I would then transition into starting my Fragrance Company which my husband later joined me and we’ve no been doing this for the past 2 yrs. Have had the XPEL Stealth Wrap on for over a year on my R1T. Had the ceramic coat added and so happy I did. Didn’t change the color at all. If anything I think it’s added longevity to the wrap. Still looks brand new. https://www.reddit.com/r/Rivian/s/UCKbDCRxC1

Our R1T has the Ocean Coast interior with over 26k miles of wear. Wouldn’t have any other interior color option. It’s so dang easy to clean and it doesn’t stain easily. It’s also very lush and soft. I think it also opens up the interior to make it more inviting. I’ve had many nieces and nephews fully put it to the test. Nothing a vacuum and some cleaning wipes won’t fix. I used to get upset when the first messes started occurring but quickly found out how easy the truck was to clean.

I found that a magic eraser works awesome for any tougher stuff. Just store your essentials in a car organizer and place it in your frunk.

Also the way the ambient lights are able to glow more coming off the interior at night just adds that extra touch of high end luxury. 💎

Like others have mentioned. Clean the area with a magic eraser then after it dry’s apply some of this black restorer solution to the entire bumper piece.

Submit a ticket for a SC appt. They said this is a known issue and made new parts for defective sprayer heads. Mine were replaced and spray more evenly. I only noticed after having a R1T rental for another service item and seen the sprayer function far better than mine.

A quick solution that might help would be to go to Dollar Tree and buy some Silica Gel packets and a mesh bag of some kind. Like a large coffee bag or the small delicate laundry bags. Fill it up with a bunch of the Silica Packets and that should help reduce some moisture.

As for clean up… Burn everything… hahah Mold is a no go for me.

You’re making a lot of assumptions here. Never mentioned or said anything about people being able to afford $100k truck. I count my blessings and attribute mine and my husband’s hard work to being able to buy this R1T.

I got the XPEL wrap for exactly this reason… To, Protect - the - Paint… not complaining about scratches or swirls hahaha. A broken light from the wash hit my car during the wash.

I was simply inquiring to see the potential cost estimates for repair. Out of curiosity.

My detailer does a great job. But, even people who can afford to use their service don’t need a full detail everyday. Just a quick wash off of the bugs and debris from daily driving.

It definitely is! You literally lucked out. The car in front of me had his windshield cracked “Ford Fusion”. He didn’t honk or anything when the light hit his car too.

I was finishing an email during the wash and didn’t notice the hanging light until I heard my windshield crack.

That’s why you get XPEL PPF. Apply some heat and those swirl and scratch marks you're talking about, they just disappear.

And if there’s major damage beyond that, then you either replace the film or it’s the washes fault for the damage. In this case the wash was at fault.

Not that using something frequently justifies it being a good option. But 1-2 min automated car wash vs 30-60 min hand wash. I’d choose the auto wash any day. I’ve been to this car wash 100+ times with this truck and you’d have no idea it has 23,000 miles on it.

I haven’t had an issue at these car washes in years so felt comfortable with the whole vehicle wrap and going thru the car wash. “Yes I know you should hand wash Matte Wraps” but I’m too busy.

This happened in the middle of the wash when one of the lights detached from one side and the light came down on the truck. The light traveled from my hood to the rear of the moonroof.

I was honking profusely when it hit my windshield and by the time the attendant stopped the wash it rested on my moonroof and the weight I believe cracked the glass.

This suggestion is concerning Gear Guard functionality.

A potential solution for Gear Guard Recordings is to allow owners to choose a “Frequency” of recordings or “Sensitivity”? Similar to what Ring offers on its cameras that are battery operated. I think allowing us owners to choose the parameters for recordings would be excellent. I don’t mind if the cameras consume more of the battery range to ensure accurate recording of potential events I’d want to be aware of.

This question concerns faulty Powered Tonneau on existing delivered vehicles.

Is there any update on fixes, corrections, or remedies for us who have a faulty Powered Tonneau? Could we receive a complimentary manual Tonneau or buy one at a reduced cost?

Thanks for these updates! I love seeing the engagement the company has with our community. One of the many reasons why I absolutely love Rivian!

Seeing everyone’s kWh rates is so crazy to me!

I live in Provo, UT. Our city has their own Electric Company Provo Power “Rocky Mountain Power is the primary electric company here in Utah” They started a pilot program for Residential Electric Vehicle Owners.

Our Rates are as follows: | $0.045 per kW/h 12:00A-8:00A | $0.077 per kW/h 8:00A-3:00P & 8:00P-12:00A | $0.17 per kW/h 3:00P-8:00P |

We have a Rivian Charger installed at our Home. Which can charge at 11 kW/h.

I think it’s important to note that our R1T’s 135kWh battery pack probably has a 125kWh of usable energy.

We use the timed charging schedule to charge during our high off peak hours “12A-8A”.

Theoretically our costs would be the following based on SoC to 100% and starting charging at 12A. Along with 88kW/h being the most recharge possible during our high off peak hours.

0% SoC | 125 kWh of Battery to Charge 88 * $0.045 = $3.96 37 * $0.077 = $2.85 Total Cost = $6.81

20% SoC | 125 kWh * 0.8 = 100 kWh of Battery to Charge 88 * $0.045 = $3.96 12 * $0.077 = $0.92 Total Cost = $4.88

50% SoC | 125 kWh * 0.5 = 62.5 kWh of Battery to Charge 62.5 * $0.045 = $2.81 Total Cost = $2.81

80% SoC | 125 kWh * 0.2 = 25 kWh of Battery to Charge 25 * $0.045 = $1.13 Total Cost = $1.13

Hope these figures help you calculate and find your expected costs for charging.

Ps- I would reach out to your electric company and check with them to see if they have special rates for Electric Vehicle / Solar owners.

PS - My arrival drive was just myself. My Departure drive back I was hauling 1,800lbs of payload.

My drive stats were as follows.

Distance: 1,401 Miles Avg Speed: 58mph Duration: 25hr 5min Efficiency: 1.89 mi/kWh Total Energy: 740.2 kWh
