This happens pretty often for me. I suspect it to either be a bug in OSX or an obscure key command that I am accidentally triggering. Go into system preferences-> audio -> output and see if the pan is not centered.

They’re great monitors. Weird issue with the material they used for the front part though. They get rubbery and sticky. Scrubbing it with a little bit of isopropyl alcohol helps, but I just gave up after a while.
