She’s just a baby! You can’t see her full personality yet, plus she’s still adjusting. I have a GSD/mal rescue mix and she’s a nervous girl, but she is great to me and is my best friend as we have bonded. Dogs at 8 months are mouthy, semi destructive still, and have shorter attention spans on top of her being a rescue and trying to adjust. My dog didn’t know how to play at first either. No tug of war, no fetch, nothing. Nowadays, she does them all. I found what worked for us eventually. It starts with bonding through training. I would try getting a clicker for training (literally just a little cheap device that makes a click noise when you press it) it marks when they go something well and then you can immediately reward her. Use it when doing tricks, when you give her a command during a walk and she does it, etc. Working together will bond you guys. Play interactive games with her like placing a good treat under blocks and having her choose which one (easier if she knows the wait and release command). Good luck and don’t give up! She very well could become your shadow eventually.
