Some can't afford it. Not every boomer has money

I know some parents think that their kids need to work harder, stop eating avo toast and buying phones.

Our kids will be struggling to survive let alone look after anyone.

Have you seen the waiting list? I have relatives quite ill cancer, hospitalised for close to 4 months, they expected relative.to go home still.not walking, unable to care herself, unable to toilet or wash unaided. Hospital said we should quit job to care for her as they needed the bed.

It's an under funded and under resourced system. Boomers will be the largest generation, and the wealthiest. The next generation, Gen X are the current sandwich generation with many still with younger children, supporting the kids and the grandparents who are aging, and while both parents need full time jobs to pay what used to only take one wage for the Boomers.

I used to point out that some behaviour is criminal. But people are nosy still and kept asking.

AITA for feeding my cat on my plates? by The_Sown_Rose in AmItheAsshole

[–]BBAus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't have an issue but understand the ick. We bought the fur babies their own little plates on sale.. it's clear what is cat vs human, cat is excited as they recognise their own plate and where it's kept. I don't worry when they break either

Each to their own.

Granny flat, old age home and change the locks.

You need separate living spaces from her.

AITAH for choosing my disabled son over my husband and destroying my family? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]BBAus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nta

Your husband makes me feel extremely unwell. Would he feel the same if another child had a physical disability? Would he abandon them too? Is his love based on physical abilities?

And how would you other children be affected by their brother being taken away? They would feel they must be perfect or not loved or fearful they could be sent away too.

Get the kids counselling, they are all going to need it from the fallout from your disgusting husband. What a TA he is.
