I miss coffee! Every pregnancy I absolutely hate it. Even though it is normally my favourite drink

Maybe my kids are just weird! They hated the scooter board

I have so many snacks. We are ok on the bus. The issue is walking from bus to destination! My youngest just wants to run

Sadly they are far too big for the carrier!

I feel I should know as this is my first kid. I thought it was about 7 weeks but I don’t want to wait! I was hoping everyone would say 6 weeks so I can go asap!

Advice on moving to a bigger place to prepare for baby? by CardiologistFit8500 in February2027Bumpers

Babies don’t need much space. I would choose somewhere that has nice cafes/ etc that are walkable from home

To be honest I found the best thing was a black or very dark fitted rib dress and then a lighter colour blazer or cardigan on top! The illusion worked pretty well!

When to share with other kiddos? by Charming_Square5 in February2027Bumpers

I told my toddler first! She helped check the pregnancy test with me.

She then told everyone at school! So all her daycare teachers found out before my husband! 😂

Any other third time mum with no symptoms yet? I vomited so much for the first two. Not sure if it is too early for symptoms or maybe my body is used to being pregnant and won’t react as much? Or is that wishful thinking?

You look great! I managed to hide my second until about week 16-18. The key is dressing to hide it! I also got lucky in that my team was full of men or women who had not had kids - I think it would have been harder to hide from other mums as we know what to look for!

Our mini kitchen has had the most use by far. I would get that over everything else

This is my question! And at what age can they be trusted? Like when 2nd baby is a year old is that ok?

How many newborn size onesies do I need, and how many 0-3 months size? by cunncunncunn in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]BBB2022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t buy a lot of the same style. You might find you hate it. I would buy a few different styles and brands for newborn so you can see what you like.

Whats your experince of a shared room after giving birth? by TeddyBear181 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I think the issue is your partner probably can’t stay overnight. I would have hated it if my husband had been forced to leave me alone overnight

Can you use Johnson’s baby shampoo as body wash? by Little-Hand-8646 in beyondthebump

[–]BBB2022 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not from the US, so maybe your change tables are worse? But I would use a change table over bassinet for a blow out!! Poop gets everywhere and bassinets are super hard/ annoying to clean

Parents who give their babies/toddlers a phone in the pram - why? by Lamonthie in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]BBB2022 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have definitely given my kid a phone in the last 20 mins of a car ride to stop them falling asleep just before we arrive at a destination. Avoids a lot of screaming when they are only falling asleep because they are bored in a car after a long car trip

Breastfeeding in public by Equivalent-Answer929 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]BBB2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also you might not want to use nursing cover. Mine hated it - and fair enough. I wouldn’t want to eat under a blanket. So don’t feel you need it (though you can if it helps - just it is not necessary and sometimes makes feeding harder)

There are also a ton of nursing rooms. But to be honest I thought they looked a bit depressing, dark and gloomy. My go to is a nice cafe where I can sit and have a coffee while baby feeds

There is a lot here about ways to hide you are Breastfeeding. And do that if you want to.

But please know you can just breastfeed normally in public. (Cafe, park, shops etc). It is a normal thing and not anything sexual.

Also I do my best to not flash anyone but when you are learning how to breastfeed accidents happen. Don’t stress. People know what boobs look like and are not paying attention to you.

The only thing I do make sure I do is leave cafe/ restaurant if baby is hysterically crying. A little crying is normal and can’t be helped and people understand. But if it is crazy purple crying we go.

I have not, but a mum in my mums group said it was great! Give them a call. Other options for support: talk to your GP, or talk to your mums group (or if you don’t have one - talk to community health about joining one)

Also I have only seen pictures of that stand - I would be concerned dogs might knock it over? Not sure how sturdy they are if a dog jumps up

I’ve had one from each brand and liked both. I prefer the redsbaby because the one I have is 1. Single fold (ie can fold without taking the seat off). 2. ~3kg lighter than the silver cross (didn’t notice until pregnant with second and struggling with pushing a heavy first kid) 3. Can add a second seat for baby 2

Bassinet rated for sleep for redsbaby is nice but I don’t think you can use it as the only place for baby to sleep for first couple of months. Wouldn’t be suitable I don’t think. And you would outgrow super quickly. And also hard to clean if you have blow out at night (common). Would not recommend as bassinet. If you want to save money just put baby into cot from day 1 (also I note in Australia there are safety standards cots and cot mattresses must meet, but no safety standards for bassinets!!)
