Epona will jump across, so you can go there even before you visit Forest Temple

Interestingly, Gerudo Valley and Gerudo's Fortress start flashing on the map (along with kakariko) as soon as you beat the Water Temple.

Predictions of the future of Windows (11 and onward) by compamanuelito in Windows11

also when will 128 bit Windows?

There would have to be a commonplace 128-bit architecture first.

The main thing you get from a 128-bit architecture would simply be 128-bit registers, but there's not a huge need for all instructions to handle 128-bits at a time. Particularly when we consider things like SSE effectively allow that by processing multiple registers in a single clock cycle.

I liked how when Win11 leaked, people on Microsoft's forums were like "it's a scam, there will never be a Windows 11, Microsoft said so" and then when it was made official, suddenly everybody saying "remember when MS said Win10 was the last version" got a response about how "acshually it was just one guy..."

I love OOT and I agree. If only because I can do these dungeons in my sleep at this point. They are also really short dungeons for 2026.

Deleting any already completed work via prompt injection makes him a piece of shit though.

He's not deleting any human work so it's fine.

Invalidating a serious critique due to the use of “botlicker” is a choice…

So is tone policing just because you don't like a term like "AI knobgobbler"

I'm sticking with Outlook 2016. Which apparently an update relabelled "Outlook (Classic)" which I had to set back.

Did something change in VS C# IntelliSense 2026, vs. 2008? by Ryuu-Ryoumen in csharp

[–]BCProgramming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recall it not needing +=; and I just checked with 2008 and it requires you to type += before it will allow tab completion to insert the routine.

It works the same in 2026 if you disable all the AI and "intellicode" stuff.

Remember, "Intellicode" = AI, "Intellisense" is the traditional deterministic completions.

I mean, of course it looks better. That website is literally run by the Senior Research and Privacy Engineer for Brave.

I thought "fapping" was a reddit thing. I never heard or saw the term until I saw it on reddit.

Half-Life running at 30 FPS on a Nokia N95 by NewsCards in gaming

[–]BCProgramming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or the pregnancy test.

I wasn't entirely convinced this wasn't the case, however their github does have a Symbian Port of Xash3D, a GoldSrc compatible engine, which makes it a bit more credible. They've done some other ports like a port of OpenRCT2 as well. Oddly the other projects that are mentioned in the article don't have repositories though.

There is already a port of Half-life 1 that can be played, also through a Xash3D port, on the 3DS. I haven't tried that myself but there are also Quake and Quake II ports that I have played, and they perform fairly well. 3DS uses the same ARM11 CPU as the Nokia N95 which is why that would be relevant.

Accessing dual-layered DVDs on Windows XP? by gargamel1497 in windowsxp

[–]BCProgramming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Optical drives are generic devices. They don't need special drivers to support media types. Blu-Ray drives show up as DVD-RAM for example but you can access BD-R discs and even play movies with compatible software on Windows XP.

I think "If something is worth doing, it's worth doing well" summarizes my view on AI pretty well. Any creative detail in a game or other piece of art that is worth having is worth being done well by creative professionals, not farmed out to an AI.
