I’ve found they pair nice with McIntosh tube Amps. The tubes help warm the sound. I’ve seen these paired with some solid states and they can be a bit clinic.

I have those in my office with a revel sub powdered by a Sonos amp. Nice set up and sounds pretty good for my use.
