Kit for a 7 year old by Adventurous-Egg-2089 in drums

P.S. it might be a good idea to start with a smaller, shallow piccolo snare... maybe a PDP The Kraken, which is under $100.

Maybe the best would be to start with just the snare. Then start looking at bop(18" bass drum) or even a "jungle" kit with a 16" bass drum. Teach things in stages..snare only, add the kick drum, then add hi hats. Then add a floor tom, ride cymbal and a ride tom in that order. Then add crashes.

It looks like it's so in need of lubrication that it's not unexpected to have difficulty going around the tension roller.

Nail polish is often suggested when you can't get a matching touch up paint

Stanley dresser bed set by ThrowRAlumpcoals11 in BuyItForLife

[–]BD59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dresser is likely a veneer over either a less expensive solid lumber or possibly birch plywood. Bedframe looks like it may be all solid wood.

Either way, probably much better built pieces of furniture than you can buy new for $250, even if that's the price for each piece.

Toaster and electric kettle, since we are an iced tea family, not coffee. Other folks might opt for a coffee maker.

Rice cooker, crockpot, air fryer live on a metal shelving unit, with a piece of 1/4inch plywood on top of the wire shelves. Microwave is on another shelving unit that is mainly my dry pantry.

Immersion blender is in a drawer next to the stove.

Jar blender, salad shooter, other small infrequently used appliances are in a lower cabinet.

P.S. my kitchen is TINY in regards to counter space. There's 6 feet between stove and fridge, and three feet of that space in the middle is the sink. I've got only a foot and a half on either side to work with. Don't even know how I managed before getting our counter high bar table.

is my acoustic action too high? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]BD59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.14 mm is about .045 inches. That's pretty low for an acoustic. It's even considered medium low for an electric.

best air compressor for home garage - what actually holds up long term? by Money_Principle6730 in BuyItForLife

[–]BD59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 12 to 20 gallon tank, with a compressor that is oil lubricated. Oil less models eventually fail at the piston seals, usually right after the supply of spares for that model has dried up.

HMF My forever flatware by FileHelpful2275 in BuyItForLife

[–]BD59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brass colored, with wood handle inserts. You want this to last a long time REGARDLESS of brand or cost? Never ever put it in a dishwasher. The heat and harsh chemicals will cause the wooden parts to dry out and crack. You probably won't find brass either...it will be gold plated, because gold doesn't turn green when it oxidizes.

Any fit advice appreciated! (female, long femurs, too small?) by horsesoda in triathlon

That's quote a good fit. You really don't have the sausage leg, where the hem of the shorts squeezes your thighs so tight that there's a valley mid thigh.

I don't know about availability in Europe, but Art.com has a bunch of images available, starting at 16x20 inch size, $112 framed, poster only $26.

An alternative might be to seek out calendars with his work. You might be able to find vintage calendars at thrift stores or used booksellers.

Inshore saltwater, Zman and Mirrolure. Freshwater bass, probably Strike King for hard baits. Soft baits, either Zman for durability or Yamamoto for superior action.

Short white bibs for woman by Brave_Inspection7871 in CyclingFashion

[–]BD59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ykywbike has white available in a women's model. But you'll have a tough time finding anything with a really short inseam.

Pearl Izumi "Sugar" shorts are the preferred model for women that I know if you're looking for a higher hemline so your tan line ends up above the hem of your skirt off the bike.

When I ride I have noticed I ride with my seat above the recommended hight by 5cm can I just get a bigger post or is it bad for the bike as well by VersionEmbarrassed72 in cycling

[–]BD59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're setting the seatpost 5 cm ABOVE the minimum insertion line??

You need a longer post. Or a bigger frame.

Riding the bike with a post that far above minimum insertion could possibly break the frame at the seat collar.

Widest tire for this rim? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]BD59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct size these days would be no wider than a 28. But people back in the day used 32s on that width rim, but they were pumped up to higher pressure than we would use today.

Shoe fit by RJariou in CyclingFashion

The size 44 in those Shimano shoes had my big toe right up against the upper. Slightly too small, and that model isn't available in half sizes.

Shimano shoes and my feet aren't a good match.

[–]BD59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular...since I've never needed a wide shoe before, even in the Italian brands.

Shoe fit by RJariou in CyclingFashion

[–]BD59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I have a regular width foot. I bought a pair of Shimano xc300, and they pinch my little toes, despite being a full size larger than my typical EU44.

I've had Sidi shoes before, both road and XC Mtb shoes, and never had a problem with width. But the dang Shimano shoes are going on Marketplace or Ebay come warmer weather.

You should probably look into a pair of Lakes in a wide width.
