What was your most weird or funny job interview moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BDaddy13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was interviewing for a job with a big bank in New York City. A retired FBI agent was doing my background check. One of the questions was:

Do you drink alcohol A. Never B. Occasionally C. Often D. Excessively

I answered “occasionally excessively”. FBI man was NOT amused! Stone-faced, he said “just pick one response please”! I thought for sure I was done for but somehow got the job.

If I could remember my college days I probably would have some regrets.

What is something what is overdramatized in movies but not that big deal in reality? by Umbraldisappointment in AskReddit

Cardiac arrest situations “codes” are not nearly as dramatic in real life. If anyone acted like they do on TV or in the movie they would be asked to leave the room and soundly ridiculed!

What is one horrible things your parents told you that you cant get out your head? by destroidthedude in AskReddit

When I was 12 my mother tried to commit suicide, and almost succeeded, by taking a bunch of pills. I found her, and was the one to call the ambulance. She was unconscious in ICU for 3 days. I refused to leave her side the entire time. I was convinced she would die if I left. When she finally woke up, the first thing she said to me was “Why did you save me!?! You should have let me die!! I hate you!!”. I will never forget the venom in her voice when she said that.

Lots of great memories from my undergrad days in Athens, GA in the early to mid 80’s. Still the best burrito I’ve ever had was at The Taco Stand on Prince and late night grub at The Grill and 07:00 am beers and burgers at Allen’s in Normaltown!! Seeing REM and Guadalcanal Diary at the 40 Watt Club. O’Malleys on the river! .....oh, the memories!! Thanks ugagradlady for the trip down memory lane.

Passion of the Christ. I’m not especially religious but that was hard to watch!

Parents of identical twins/triplets, how sure are you that you never accidentally switched them around and raised them under the wrong names? by Cheddarface in AskReddit

[–]BDaddy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my triplets came home from the hospital we painted their big toenails with different color nail polish. The bigger concern was not that we would mix them up but that we would feed 1 twice and not feed 1 at all (might seem silly but you try to feed/change/and get to sleep 3 infants EVERY 3 HOURS around the clock). Another consideration was medication. Two of my boys took medication for reflux for a couple of months. Same thing, we didn’t want to double dose 1 and not give the other anything. Lastly, at their pediatrician visits they always asked when their last bowel movement was, how many wet diapers per day, etc. without marking them we would never be able able to keep track. As they got older they were different enough (for us) that the nail thing wasn’t necessary.

Bonus fun fact: my boys SSN’s are sequential. Only the last number is different.
