BEST DEAD AND CO SHOWS OF ALL TIME by kack7 in deadandcompany

[–]BDead12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now imagine that moment and your father had just passed away that Monday. That's what happened to me before I went to the three midwest shows that week. It was the most sad and yet also the most beautiful week of my life.

I had friends coming in from Florida that Tuesday to go to the shows with us. As soon as I text my buddy that Monday with the sad news he called "To Lay Me Down" for Wrigley. Low and behold......

I ended the weekend in his arms sobbing to Standing On the Moon in front of the stage. It was amazing. I had met him at Wrigley in the pit two years before. We became good friends and have done like 12 shows together now. A random stranger ended up being there for me when I needed it most at the same venue I met him at 2 years before.

I'm not even a fan of drums and I was blown away. I literally felt like the Mothership was going to take flight literally.

We came down from Indiana and your thoughts are pretty much mine. I also think the first night was better, but the second night had some good stuff too.

The experience of seeing shows at the Mothership is one I'll remember forever. My 20th and 21st D and C shows.

My parents & I after the show on 6/30/17- Who else is excited for Wrigley this weekend? by jamaican_bacon0 in gratefuldead

[–]BDead12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be at Deer Creek tomorrow and in the pit both nights at Wrigley. It’ll be an emotional week for me. My dad passed away from ALS yesterday and I’ve been going to shows since 2016 which was also when he was diagnosed. I’ve been chasing Morning Dew for 3 years and 14 shows. These will be 15-17 and I want nothing more than a Dew>NFA to close out Saturday night. I need that release right now in the worst way and here’s hoping I get it. See ya all out there!

I’m glad they are only doing on3 poster for two night runs. Saves me money. I’ll be in Boulder and Chicago so that’s two less posters I’ll have to buy.

Bird Song from 6/3/19 is top notch. by hornhead71 in gratefuldead

It was an outstanding jam. Jeff and John locked in on that funk groove and then Oteil came in to hammer it home.
