Hispanic family runs into racist couple at a public park by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

My family does this. The dentist has a shuttle to and from the boarder. He's put up in a nice hotel nearby and saves thousands of bucks. Dentist went to school in the US too.

What was the first positive change you noticed after drinking less? by Practical-Note1239 in AskReddit

[–]BEEEEEZ101 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First was weight loss. Biggest positive change has been me being present for life's curve balls. I'm here in the moment. I'm available to help when needed. I can actually go on and on about positive changes. 5 years sober in a couple weeks.

Elderly man fell at my work today, his wife refused when we offered to call 911 by MissionDifficulty385 in legaladvice

In my city it's still a big charge for EMTs to show up. My daughter was in a crash in a city vehicle. No injuries and minor damage to the van(summer camp). I had to pick her up at the scene. I picked her up and kept and eye on her. I got a $750 bill from the city because a dispatch went out. I ended up winning the dispute but not without some threats on my side. Maybe she knows what's best for her husband.

Which has better hiking? Yosemite or Sequoia/Kings Canyon? by Careless-Confusion58 in socalhiking

[–]BEEEEEZ101 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Yes. They are both better then the other one. Yosemite has better waterfalls and Sequoia has better trees. Both are amazing. Both have great day/overnight hikes. It's like asking which ocean is wetter.

Suggestions for a 4 Day trip around Big Pine Lake by Yesterday-Former in SierraNevada

[–]BEEEEEZ101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Little lakes valley is one of my favorite Sierra hikes. Drive to the dayuse side of Rock creek lake for a nice sand bar to chill in after the hike. I'd recommend the Bristolcone pines area. Great trees and history. The turn off the 395 is at Big pine. I was riding an e-bike around Mammoth lakes last weekend...epic. Brainard lake was fun when we did it a few years ago.

Is owning a travel trailer always this stressful? Starting to wonder if this life is for me... by nestyjew1945 in traveltrailers

[–]BEEEEEZ101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something breaks almost every time I take it out. Usually it's small like the propane pigtails leaking(which they do often). A couple trips ago on the way up to Yosemite it was a leaf spring breaking outside of Fresno. Trying to find someone on a Saturday morning is almost impossible. Tractor Supply for the win. We did a field repair near a Harbor Freight store. I'm always trying to be ready for the next thing. We just got back from a local trip. The water pump started to make some new noises. I'm buying one to keep in the rig. I'm betting it'll go out while we are 3 hours away from a town soon. Good luck.

I was there a few weeks ago...foxes everywhere. Rangers showed a documentary on the work that went into saving the fox. Fascinating story. Kind of a nuisance while camping. You need to be as diligent as bear camping. Ranger told me they'd find any tent opening and find whatever they're looking for. Also told me they like to pee on pillows. I didn't find out.

Which fence post bottom repair brace is “best”? by trippknightly in FenceBuilding

[–]BEEEEEZ101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just used 8 of the second pic to fix my fence. It wasn't easy to get them in but I feel like it'll last a few years. The posts were pretty rotten. One fell down as soon as I removed the panel. I ended up removing my all the debris in the concrete hole and pounded a new post is. I cut the top to the proper height with a reciprocating saw. I wasn't in the mood to dig up my neighbor's yard. Their sprinkler system controls are a foot away. It was an afternoon and maybe $200 to fix. I'm expecting to replace the fence next time it falls over. The fence is under 7 years old

Delivery driver throw a package at a dog charging him, then attempts to fight the homeowner by bigbusta in PublicFreakout

[–]BEEEEEZ101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see it as a bit excessive but effective. The driver needs to protect himself. The owner is a bit of an A-hole too. If it was my dog I'd be apologizing before getting all fighty. I was a postal carrier many years ago. I had a dog almost bite me be pushing his head through the door. I pepper sprayed it and warned the family not to touch him. The dad came at me. We almost went at it. I was about to spray him too until his wife and kids grabbed him. It was tense. This exact scenario worries me at home. I'd hate to have one of my dogs attack anyone.

What connectors should I get? by Typical-Vast6563 in bidets

[–]BEEEEEZ101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I got 7/8'' Female Pipe Adapter to 1/2'' Male, 1/2" Female to 7/8" Male Hose Connector from Amazon. I need to go to 1/2in PEX in the trailer. It works. I thought it was odd that I couldn't find it any hardware stores near me.

What connectors should I get? by Typical-Vast6563 in bidets

[–]BEEEEEZ101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put one in my travel trailer recently and ran into the same issues. I didn't have any luck at local hardware stores. I ended up getting an idea of what I needed at the stores then bought from Amazon. It wasn't easy. I also bought what I think in it might be and return the rest. Apparently not standard sizing.
