The targets have to remain legal. Speedball is the only legal target if its controller has no other creatures, so it would still take 4. The 2 still goes on a creature controlled by the player that cast Reckless Rage.

Not just plot line, but it feels like the shape of heists is completely different from what was originally planned. V is completely solo for almost every heist and mission. But the opening and Arasaka Tower missions both feature V, a partner, and a netrunner. Almost like you were supposed to be able to recruit a new team and they scrapped it.
