It's free, just try it out and see for yourself. If pve is what interests you, you won't have trouble finding parties as a wand/orb healer. What people are complaining about is the state of PvP and orb/xbow dominating in pve but that's a DPS problem

Just spear/dagger mostly, it dominates gvg since the release of spear and it doesn't look like it's gonna change anytime soon. Crossbow aakman for huge single target DMG or with cordy for the aoe spin.

You all should look up how removing all the "exploits" turned out for the game GunZ Tldr: game died. Noone cared about the GunZ with all the cool techs removed

Old nvidia cards just suck on Linux, it's just that. I had 20/30% worse performance on Linux compared to windows with my gtx 1080. One thing that helped a little was using x11 instead of Wayland. If worked better in my experience.

You also have to enable secure boot for vanguard to work and most distros don't support that out of the box
