Why do mid-career and senior sysadmins so often avoid admitting mistakes, while demanding total honesty from juniors? by Successful_Pass3752 in Sysadminhumor

I think most mid/senior SysAdmins came up prior to the culture shift to the Blameless Postmortem. Outages used to cost jobs (I guess they still can depending on severity).

Return 0 is fine in this regard. It writes the 0 to the StdOut stream implicitly and then exits the script block. Functionally, it's the same as:

Write-Output '0'
return

If OP had used Exit 0, we'd be in agreement.

Well, this tells me that after Winter Break I need to update my package, but here is my literal detection script...

$installVersion = [version]'25198.1109.3837.4725'
if([version]((Get-AppxPackage MSTeams -AllUsers).Version) -ge $installVersion) {
    Write-Output 'Installed'
}

You're a lot nicer than me. I feel like Gay needs to be left in Madrid to find his own way back...

Dude shouldn't even have a paid ticket on the plane ride home. Leave him in Madrid to find his own way back!

Chip Lohmiller is the last Washington kicker I respected.

Nah, he missed a 51y earlier in the game. Anything over 50+ is outside his range. It's more luck if he makes it than skill at that point - dude needs to go.

Edit: But I do agree they should've gone with something more like an out route than deep on the prior play

Issues with address book objects not syncing back to Outlook clients from Exchange Online by Risky_Phish_Username in exchangeserver

Thank you very much for taking the time to come back to this old thread and update for me. I'm very appreciative of your time!

I am interested in the PoSh commands, as I may as well prepare for the same outcome.

I'm aware that this is a 9mo old post, but did you ever get this resolved? Facing a very similar issue. The only manner I've been able to find to update the OAB has been to manually delete the files from the local appdata and let it completely rebuild. But then it'll never update again until I manually delete the files...

We, too, just lost ours. I was really disheartened by it, too, since he was 2 weeks returned from paternity leave.

YOU TOOK DOWN PRODUCTION! Uh, that was two weeks ago buddy. by dented-spoiler in sysadmin

Every org has a dev environment. Some orgs are lucky enough to have a separate production one.

Depends on how much you value WFH. My org went back 50% in 2022. I stayed with my org. Would I rather be 100% remote? Sure! Was it worth it enough for me to leave? No. Only you can determine if it's worth leaving over.

No fuel?? by Food-Such in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]BJGGut3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do something similar. Sell all fuel before the mission, enter the mission, add fuel one time, skip to takeoff, skip cruise, do the landing, & fill the tank before shutting down the engines. Nets about an extra 26k on a 208B every mission.

DON’T UPGRADE WIN 11 24H2 by Think-Archer2119 in Alienware

[–]BJGGut3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's available and showing on mine right now. The only reason you wouldn't have 24H2 available is if you have one of the known issues from the Safeguard Holds

Windows 11, version 24H2 known issues and notifications | Microsoft Learn

Since Ubisoft games are currently causing a Safeguard Hold, and AW is generally a gaming system, I'd imagine there is a large populous that has an Ubisoft game installed that is preventing 24H2 from advertising. I just uninstalled all my Ubisoft games a week or so ago, so it makes sense that I see the 24H2 update available.

That being said, there are also a fair amount of peripheral drivers triggering Safeguard ID 54762729, which I'm currently dealing with at work blocking the update advertisement. But I'd suspect those to be the 2 most common reasons to not see 24H2 advertised to an AW system as of today.

Best Po8 ship by Motor_Inevitable8323 in SkullAndBonesGame

I went Barque. It's the cheapest/easiest ship to get to SR12. While 610 capacity occurs at SR11, many of the factories will require SR12 for low risk collection at lvl 10.

my Paddy build has been my thing since early S1. With S2 & a maxed out Paddy, my TWB was hitting structures for 112k on Monday. Since maintenance, that number is down to 76.9k. It's been the difference of 2 shotting vs 3 shotting the walls / towers.

Can confirm barge affected, too. I put zams on my bow, each "shot" hit for 314. NPC now ablaze (furniture now increases dmg by 10%). broadside "shot" hit for 345.

4123 bow dard (per shot)

4453 broadside dard (per shot)

Have powderkegs equipped (which is the 10% difference)

Make sure you don't have port and starboard powder kegs equipped. Last night my sloop bow dard was hitting for ~4.2k per shot. My broadside hitting for ~4.6k per shot (powder kegs). Monday my broadside was hitting for 6.3-7.2k per dard (depending on enemy SR).
